Got to love hardware from 90s. You can never be sure if the company even exists that made the drivers for it anymore

Like 3dfx/voodoo/rush. From almost total monopoly of 3d graphics cards to nothing in a few years.

One of my first computers I called the company who manufacturered the sound card for more recent sound card drivers, they transferred me to the cell phone of the developer who then emailed me the updated files.

I purchased the original Diablo when it was first released, but had trouble getting multiplayer working and when I called support the fella provided perfect advice and at the end of the call said he was one of the developers. At the time Diablo was only recently released thus not much popularity so I don't think he was lying.

Thanks for the welcome back Calahan! I remember having some fun games with you. To be honest, my hiatus was for two reasons. Firstly, change of computer. But secondly, I'd played a series of games which were quite brief and unsatisfying (there were some tech issues, I got beat up early, that kind of thing). To try to compensate, I'd enrolled in three games simultaneously, and of course all three of them were quite long running, and I was reasonably successful for a while. Hence it went from being 20 minutes each evening to a couple of hours, and that was a bit much.

Lesson learned - one game at a time, and ideally with 48 hours turns. Should have me back for a while that way.

Guessing my disk should be pretty close now, then back into the thick of it! Might start with a noob game though - I've forgotten so much...

And now onwards to enroll into dozen new MP games!

Or not.

Actually, I take maybe around a hour per day to do all my turns, and I'm in 5 games at the moment. One ended yesterday, so probably need to look for another one.
