Default SAM vs Helos on hight altitude, bug or mistake ?

I am new in winMBT but the problem I spotted very irritates me. Modern SAM systems and man handled rockets behave very strange against helicopters on a hight altitude. They simply dont see them on the ranges beyond 40 hex !!! This is incorrect and have nothing common with real life. In the game helos are uberweapon but in life they must hide from modern AA on hights below 50 m if they dont want to be shot down. Such systems as BUk, TOR, Tunguska or any western analogs can spot an eliminate helicopters on very low hights and at ranges of few kilometrs, but in the game they see only 40 hex !!!! sorry for my english )

40 hexes is 2 Klicks.

the map bnased SAM's for the most part are not area weapons (there are exceptions) and used against Helos and low to mid level TAC aircraft.

Helo a uberweapon.. you need to fly against the people shooting at me. Hard to have a Helo surive to long.

Nope - Helo High altitude, as we already said in another post on helos, is about 500-1000 feet. helo low is the normal helo operating altitudes down around the treetops etc.

Cheers
Andy

I have to add to swenslim's issue here as I think he is referring to our PBEM games where my Cobras have been decimating his forces , despite his having quite a bit of AA. I have no 'real world' experience in the field, but I do have to say that hand-held SAMs and even AA gun fire has been quite ineffective against COBRAs I basically have free reign so long as I don't go charging in and stay back at high altitudes. Perhaps this is realistic? I don't know. But does anyone else think helis seem to be 'uberweapons'?
