Default Custom Races in SEV ?

I just downloaded my first shipset/race for SEV. However i seem to be unable to get it to appear when creating a game.

Call me a bummer but explain to me how the custom shipset and race picture would show up.

Make sure the AI_Main.txt file reads like this:

Is Empire Race := TRUE
Is Available For Player Selection := TRUE
Is Neutral Race := FALSE

They might not appear if you haven't placed them in a mods empires folder.

Figured it out. Was using balance mod but indeed didnt put the race folder into the gametypes folder.

You can place the race in the stock Empires folder and just place an empty folder in the mod. However, if you want the shipset to work for AI empires, you need to copy some AI scripts (.csf files) from another race in the mod, or the default AI, into the the shipset in question. The stock AI shipsets come with will not work at all in BM. Note that the BM website has a guide for how to make custom shipsets work as AI empires in the mod.
