Doesn't look like a server so much as an indexing of arranged network games, not a PBEM server. Each game has a server listed by IP so that you can connect to that computer.

Serves the purpose of playing a MP.
I agree that llamaserver is way more useful. But its strange ive no t read about it in this forum

must be something from the SA forums, seeing that it is the 'goon' server.

It's not a server, "just" a status script, albeit a very good one. It's operated by the user "matryx" for the Something Awful "goons" to keep track of network games.

Since the llamaserver and PBEM gaming is the de-facto standard for playing Dom3 MP now, it's no wonder that you didn't recognize it yet. It once was even in the "MP Server list" sticky, though: http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?p=638804#post638804

Thanks lch - but yes, the pure purpose is to a) email members when the game has a new turn available (should they choose) and b) get all of the 'I claim Marignon in game X' out of the single discussion thread we have on the SA forums - allowing more discussion and simple game announcements :)
I had no idea it ended up in the MP Server List, thanks for clearing up that point at the time as well.
