Battle of Khafji - Evening of day 2*
Date: 31st January 1991**
Battle Location: Khafji City, Saudi Border with Kuwait**

Battle Type: Saudi Arabia advance vs Iraq delay*
*
Description: Iraqi forces advanced South out of occupied Kuwait on the 30th of January 1991. One of their columns brushed aside screening forces and occupied the border city of Khafji. In the afternoon of the 31st, a Saudi counterattack pushed this column out of the city.*
*
The Saudi force consists of two battalions of National Guard troops, backed by 2 companies of Qatari tanks. Artillery support and air assets are provided by the USMC, along with some SP_ATGM. In addition, two USMC spotter teams were isolated inside the city by the Iraqi advance, and are therefore able to act as your "fifth column" inside the city.*
Task force A - of a National Guard Battalion and a Qatari tank squadron should probably attempt to use the open ground to the West of the city and hook down into the Iraqi centre or rear. The other similar task force should clear the city from South to North.*
*
It is probably best for the player to use his air and artillery assets to soften up the defenders in the city before beginning to clear it. The USMC helicopters and the TOW vehicles may prove useful at plinking any sniping tanks that become revealed.
**
Notes: If played against the AI the human player should take the Saudi side. May be played PBEM.*
