That "Unmentionable" Sea Mammal*
*
Date: April 1941*
Battle Location: Kent Coast, UK*
Battle Type: Germany Amphibious Assault vs UK Defend*
Units: 250: Turns: 50 : Map: 80x80*
*
Description:*
An Alien Space Bat has provided the Germans with plans for a working amphibious assault barge. Therefore they do not have to invade the UK with towed Rhine river barges only capable of 4 knots. They have diverted resources to producing these, but it has still taken until 1941 to build up strength. Only a proportion of the assault forces have the new equipment, and the follow-on forces will still use the vulnerable river barges (able to be sunk merely by a passing destroyer's wake). Our assault team has the new landing barges, and luckily these do not require the bows to be blown off with explosives in order to land the tanks, unlike the Rhine barges. In addition a few underwater tanks are made available to us,*

Orders**
With our new technology, the Fuehrer has decided to knock the effete English from the war before dealing with our true enemies in the East.
**
Walmingtom on Sea has been identified as a weak point in the British defences by our Abwehr. The local commander is a Captain Mainwaring, who is a blustering pompous buffoon in charge of a platoon of the incompetent "Home Guard" of young boys and old men. Resistance should therefore be negligible, once we get ashore.
**
As our glorious Kriegsmarine is currently fully occupied with the task of keeping the ends of the English channel free of the Royal Navy, there will be no naval gunfire support other than what the few accompanying minesweepers can provide. (Note that our minesweepers have smoke generators fitted to aid the run in to the shore). Only a few defensive bunkers have been identified by the Luftwaffe recce units, and there is a little barbed wire and some obstacles on the beach for our pioneers to deal with.
**
Reichmarshal Goering has guaranteed that the Luftwaffe will sweep the skies of all RAF opposition and also they will clear the beaches with an aerial bombardment.
**
Therefore all we will have to do is land on the beach and clear some minor defences before exploiting inland. A piece of cake. We'll all meet up at the Red Lion pub for some liberated ale after the job's done.

Design Notes:*
Designed for human as Germans only.*
