10 July 1943 -*
*
The invasion of Sweden is at hand. This is what you have been training for. Your initial task will be to break through the border defences near Idre.*
*
The Germans intended to use something termed 'Scandinavian Tactics' to overcome the (localy) more numerous enemy and adverse terrain conditions. It included making use of rapidly advancing armoured Kampfgruppen designed to keep up a fast pace of operations along the roads, leapfrogging units forward. The Swedes hiding in the woods were not to be engaged if it could be avoided. Armour was deemed essential as it was believed the enemy lacked adequate anti tank capability.*
*
You are the commander of such a Kampfgruppe belonging to the 25th Panzer Division. You will be tasked with slicing through Sweden to link up with seaborne elements landed north of Stockholm. Speed is of the essence. You should make your Kampfgruppe mobile. Expect refitting points to be scarce once the operation gets underway.*
*
You will be given ample support points to breach the border defences.*
