SPECIAL VICTORY CONDITIONS AT THE VERY END OF THE DESCRIPTION!
*
*
Russia, drived by militarism and raging economic crisis launches invasion of western Europe, thus de facto starting a new world war.*
Russia is supported by it's allies: Belarus (being economically dependant) and Ukraine (that was forcefully subdued as puppet state shortly before), as well as some allies from central east. Serbia is currently looking at Russia with positive eye and Turkey openly refuses to comply with NATO treaties.*
*
This allows Russia to launch heavy invasion on Baltic States, Poland and also Romania. Militaries of those nations fight bravely but finally succumb to armoured onslaught.

"When the days became complete*
and it came to die in summer,*
straight to heaven, four in a row, walked*
soldiers of Westerplatte.*

(And summer was beautiful that year.)"*

*
Let us rewind a little bit to how it all started.*
NATO countries' intelligence agencies expected that detoriating situation in Russia will lead to the conflict in upcoming weeks. Polish intelligence was well informed of such possibility. However, Polish military, while being well trained, lacks proper transport capacity and logistics to redeploy its key forces towards Russian district of Kaliningrad (Koenigsberg). Entire Polish division is tasked with defending the geografical area of Mazury, the 16th Pomeranian Mechanized Division. This unit has 3 brigades near the border, one armoured and two of mechanized type. Sadly for the Poles, this division is worst equipped out of all, with most bequipment being 50 years old BMP-1s and slightly newer T-72s. Against these, Russian military deploys most of Kaliningrad forces: a marine brigade, about four motorized and mechanized brigades with massive AA and artillery cover coming from three more support brigades.
*
*
Miraculously, Polish border guards are able to send a lot of alarming signals that Russian forces are leaving storage areas in Kaliningrad. Combat orders are sent immediately and most Polish forces manage to deploy last minute. Shortly afterwards, as soon as dawn is rising on this warm, summer day, polish (empty now) bases are struck with massive artillery barrages. Just afterwards, swarms of invaders move in. Their goal: to reach Warsaw in 3 days.
*
*
20th Mechanized Brigade mobilized correctly around its main base at Bartoszyce. Bartoszyce are located just 20km from Russian border. Russian commander hopes that polish unit is incapacitated by artillery strikes and he wants to secure Bartoszyce in an hour. But Russian forward elements are immediately engaged by Polish border guards and delayed for that hour. Border guards retreated and joined Polish brigade - which is now ready to defend the homeland.
*
*
As commander of 20th Mechanized Brigade, you dispose your entire unit: a recon company, tank battalion with T-72s that are no match for any Russian armour in direct combat (your ammunition is outdated), two battalions with BMP-1s, these however are already equipped with some Spike ATGMs, your best weapon to date. Artillery support is provided by battalion of obsolete Gvozdikas. There is so far no contact established with 11th Artillery Regiment in Wegorzewo, but this unit is probably retreating and fighting off Russian interception attempt. Same applies to AA cover, only your generic brigade assets are available (upgraded ZU-23 guns and Grom MANPADS) as divisional AA regiment is retreating as well. Entire air force is grounded due to fear of mightly S-300 and S-400 missile systems, but we know that some polish F-16 Wild Weasels will try to probe Russian AAs in the area.
*
*
You will be most likely facing Russian motorized brigade. Border Guards that retreated to town of Bezledy report that Russian commander is already aware of failed artillery strike at your base. Russians are deploying in three main bodies to carry on with head advance. *
Cause them casualties.*
Do your best to stop them.*
And when the days become complete, march with pride.

SPECIAL VICTORY CONDITIONS:*

Let me be clear. This is REALLY hard scenario. For this reason, there is only one victory condition: survive. Casualties you sustain are not of first priority. What you should do is not letting the Russian force to reach the bridges on Lyna river and cause as heavy casualties as you can. Russian unit will not be combat capable if you score around 35000pts (35k). If you reach this level, degardless of your own casualties you should consider it generally a win.*
If you score the above and keep control of both bridges, marginal win goes to minor win. If points scored by Russian side will be lower than 18000pts (18k) consider it major win. If Russian advance will actually be stopped (you scored about 45k or more points) you can call it a decisive victory.
