75 mm armata wz.1897 - famous French 75 mm cannon*
Mle 1897, was a basic Polish field gun in interwar*
period and 1939 September Campaign of World War II.*
Despite the gun was of WWI vintage and not modern *
anymore, it was still a potent weapon.*

They were a mainstay of Light Artillery Regiments*
in Infantry Divisions. The regiment usually had two*
detachments with 12 guns each and one detachment*
of 100mm howitzers (some regiments had one gun*
detachment and two howitzer ones).*
All the guns were horse-drawn, apart from two*
motorized detachments of two Polish motorized*
brigades (used with rubber tires).* 
In 1939 there were 1374 guns wz.1897 available.*

75 mm Mle 1897 guns were used again by the*
Polish Army in France in 1940.*
