The wz.34 (1934 Pattern) light armoured car was*
a basic armoured car type in Polish units in 1939.*
It was a conversion of wz.28 halftrack armoured cars*
on Citroen-Kegresse chassis, to 4x2 drive.*
*
From 1934, 87 cars were converted to wz.34 standard.*
These cars appeared in several variants, differing*
in engines (wz.34, 34-I, 34-II) and body type. Early*
version had vertical rear plate and wider hull. Late*
version had sloped rear plate and narrow hull.*
*
About 1/3 of wz.34 cars were armed with low-velocity*
37mm SA.18 Puteaux gun (troop leaders), the rest had*
one 7.92mm wz.25 Hotchkiss TMG only.*
*
In 1939 they were used in ten armored car squadrons*
of Armoured Detachments (battalions) of the Cavalry.*
Each squadron had seven cars, the eighth car was the*
detachment's commander's. In 1939 they were quite*
obsolete, with weak armament and armour and limited*
off-road capabilities. *
