Renault R-35 light infantry tanks were used by *
Polish 10th Armoured Cavalry Brigade of Col. Maczek,*
organized in France in 1940, as its primary tanks.*
*
Unfortunately, the tanks were given by the French*
only in May 1940, and the brigade could not complete*
its organization. It was used in combat with only*
one tank battalion with 45 R-35 tanks.*
They were used in fighting in Bourgogne on 12-17*
June 1940 (among others, at Champaubert and*
Montbard).*
*
The tanks were from new production. Platoon*
commanders had tanks with long 37mm SA.338 L/33 guns,*
rest were ordinary tanks with low velocity SA.18*
L/21 guns (modifie 37 variant).*
