Jaskolka (Swallow) class, also known as 'birdies'*
(Polish: 'ptaszki'), was a successful design of*
a coastal minesweeper. Six vessels were built in*
Poland in 1934-1939: ORP "Jaskolka", "Rybitwa",*
"Mewa", "Czajka", "Czapla", "Zuraw" - all named *
after birds.*

They were used in a coast defence in September 1939*
and were sunk or captured. *

An armament was one 75 mm gun and two MGs.*
*
Four ships served still after the war.*
