Narodowe Sily Zbrojne (NSZ) - National Armed Forces*
was a Polish nationalist right-wing military*
resistance organization. It was the third largest*
Polish resistance movement of World War II, counting*
up to around 75,000.*
*
Apart from fighting against the Germans, NSZ*
partisans fought against the Soviets, Polish communists (and GL/AL partisans),*
and in many cases murdered Jews.*
In 1944 part of the NSZ was subordinated to the AK (Home Army). *
*
In 1945, the NSZ Holy Cross Mountains*
Brigade (Brygada Swietokrzyska) retreated along with the Germans to Bohemia,*
and resumed operations against the Nazis only on May 5, 1945,*
liberating prisoners from a concentration camp.*
