GRIM REAPERS*

Scenario by White Rabbit*
*
Finland (Assault) vs Russia (Defend)*
*
Playable only as Finns*
*
Scenario date: October 3rd 2016*
*
Take control of elite Finnish sniperteam equipped with supressed sniper rifles and state-of-the-art electronic scopes. Infiltrate enemy lines in the cover of the night, look for intel and inflict as much havoc as possible.*
*
*
Exerpt from a diary of a Finnish Special Ops sniper, 2nd Special Jaeger Battalion:*
*
"We arrived at our destination in early afternoon, and immediately received orders to move out as soon as the darkness falls.*
*
The subsonic ammo was waiting here as promised, so we'll be going out with the supressed M.13's. And that'll be a drill we know all but too well: at first, take down the group leader of officer, then the radio, and just watch the rest shit themselves, helpless and alone in the dark, and pick'em off one by one...*
*
I heard we're gonna have some kind of air support, but as usual those Air Force assholes aren't flying unless we take out the russian AA-guns and SAM's or whatever the Russkies have there first... Guess it would be too god damn much to ask from those flying fucks to risk THEIR lives... or their precious fucking fighters.*
*
So all we really have as fire support is an 81mm mortar platoon from the Locals. Good thing our own FO-team came with us, those fucking Morties might even hit something...*
*
On the brighter side: I heard the fieldkitchen here has coffee... where the Hell did they get REAL fucking COFFEE. Uh yeah! Almost makes this all this shit worth while..."*

DESIGNER NOTES:*
*
Your snipers start on the road near Finnish frontline positions. There is an infantry company in positions, but they are to hold their defensive positions and let the snipers do the job.*
*
Which is: to find opposing enemy battalion HQ from, propably in the few houses located east of you, and search the perimeter for intel. Once you've captured all (four) victory objective flags, consider the search done.*
*
Your secandary mission is to find enemy mortar positions and destroy them. Finnish recon bird sighted them being unloaded from trucks, but had to withdraw due to enemy AA-fire before seeing their intented positions.*
*
The Snipers are equipped with supressed rifles using large caliber SUBSONIC ammunition, so the weapons max range is dropped to 400m (eight hexes) as after that the low velocity bullet has lost most of it's energy. But unlike most of the enemy units, your snipers are equipped with NV and Thermal Imaging, and can therefore engage the enemy from beyond their range of vision.*
*
As your support you have an 81mm mortar platoon with plenty of ammo, and a pair of F-18's with ground attack weaponry. But it is Strongly recommended you try to take out whatever enemy anti-aircraft units you can find before calling in air support, as the Finns really don't have too many of them F-18's to waste.*
*
For directing the mortarfire and co-ordinating the air strike you have a Spec Ops FO unit, near the snipers' starting positions. The FO-unit is not meant to take part in the actual attack, rather just lay low in theis foxhole and act as an intermediate between the snipers and the mortars/F-18's.*
*
As you will notice the victory objectice flags, invisible at first, don't have much value points, they are there just to mark the intel-search Objective Area. So you'll have to take out at least some enemy units to get the points needed to win the battle. On the other hand, once you captured all the flags, there's no harm in enemy retaking them once you start pulling back to your own lines.*
*
Finally, the value of the snipers and the F-18's are heavily increased, so losing any of those will result the enemy getting a lot of points.*
