Omaha Beach*
*
You successfully penetrated the enemy defenses and started the advance inland, but did not manage to completely take the beach.
As the 115th Regiment is advancing west towards Point du Hoc to relieve the rangers there, the situation at the beachhead is far from secure.
When a group of officers tried to contact the first regiment in the west, they came under fire at the road and had to resort to using the beach.
Furthermore, units landing on the beach as reinforcements keep coming under sporadic machine gun fire, either from bypassed units or infiltrators.*
*
Objectives: Deploy your units east (in case of this map NORTH) of the indicated deployment line.
Advance south and clear the village of Saint Laurent, as well as the route to Vierville.
Also check the indicated strong points for bunkers that are still operational and mop them up.
Not very glamorous work, but necessary work nonetheless.*
*
Enemy: The enemy consists mostly of stragglers or infiltrators.
Some may have re-occupied bunkers that were previously declared safe.*
*
Due to the chaos on the landing beaches, it might be a while before reinforcements reach your unit, or what is left of it anyway.
 Try to minimize casualties.*
*
Our naval support is already online. After this mission you will receive minor refit and replacements from the D-Day reserve.
