Vire*
*
Following the fall of Tessy-sur-Vire, the Germans slowly pulled back towards the town of Vire. Due to the endless ambushes and delaying actions by enemy forces, we had no time to integrate new replacements.*
Yesterday CCA of Second Armored Division tried to force a crossing over the river Vire at the village of Martilly. However, they lost 10 tanks to an enemy artillery strike, as well as four more trying to cross the stone bridge, this time to hidden AT gun positions in the surrounding hills. Other tanks were more lucky and managed to seize Hill 219 to the west of the town.*
It is starting to get dark: Our task is clearing the town of Vire and setting up roadblocks at the 5 roads leaving it to south and east. Jump-off point is Hill 219. Be prepared for night fighting!
*
*
Objectives: *
Deploy your forces on Hill 219.*
Clear the town of Vire.*
Take the roads out of Vire.*
*
*
Enemy: It seems the Germans are trying to delay us in Vire. The town's defenders consist of forces from 353. and 363. Infanterie Division, as well as 3. Fallschirmjaeger Division. They don't seem to have tanks in support.*
*
*
2nd Armored Division has sustained 450 casualties in the last days and the higher-ups have concluded, that using an armored division in this kind of terrain is ill-advised. Because of that, our tank support has been pulled out of the line for now and we will have to clear the town on our own. We have heavy artillery support attached though, as well as elements of 3rd battalion.*

After this battle you will be placed in reserve and refitted.
