The exact origins of the term "Eagle Flight" to characterize this force is unknown.
Eagle Flights were quick reaction and strike forces allowed South Vietnamese planners
and generals by the deployment of the Utility Tactical Transport Helicopter Company (UTTHCO)
to SOuth Vietnam. The Eagle flight was the principle maneauver initially created for airmobile
troops, and used to varying effects during the Advisory Period in Vietnam.

While UH-34s are available for this formation, and while they might well have been used
the official Lessons Learned pamphlet from the period details the use of the UH-1B almost
exclusively for such operations.
