Tank Company*
*
After WW2 Finnish tank companies were equiped with light tanks (T-26, Vickers) or heavier tanks that were mainly captured from the enemy during WW2. There were enough T-34s to equip approximately 1-2 companies.*
*
These companies have no organic infantry, which is a disadvantage, because when forming a task force (attaching a tank co from tank bn to jaeger bn and adding artillery Bn and other support such as pioneer, AA etc., a Finnish SOP during the time period) the tanks need to get the infantry from the jaeger companies. A tank company is normally divided to jaeger companies, platoon each. The tanks are used to destroy enemy weapon positions and this way support the attacking infantry. This techinque is similar to that used in WW1 and early WW2. Tanks are not to engage enemy tanks, as they are considered too vulnerable against more advanced enemy tanks.*
