Infantry Company*
*
Finnish infantry has been divided into 2 main categories, the Jaegers and the basic Infantry. Jaegers are the attacking force as the infantry is mainly a defensive force.*
*
The infantry Company has seen some changes during the post-WW2 years, but basically it has remained very similar. The infantry company is equiped lightly and has only short range AT-weapons, so to encounter enemy armoured onslought they need support from other AT assets. The infantry is to fight from entrenched positions with obstacles and minefields and support from friendly artillery to prevent being overran by enemy tanks.*
*
The infantry units are transported using tractors, mostly taken into service from the surrounding Finnish society if a chrisis is imminent. Then the tractors are used to move the units into the area they are to defend. The tractors give the infantry units sufficent operational mobility, if compared to the old method, marching on foot.*
