Jaeger Company*
*
Jaegers Battalions are the offensive light infantry units of early post-WW2 era. Like before, they are relied upon to conduct swift and decisive counter-attacks against even the best enemy forces. The Jaegers were the youngest and best armed troops in Finnish Army, with comparatively high amount of automatic weapons and anti-tank weapons, providing good short range firepower against all targets.*
*
This company is also equipped with bicycles, the only form of transportation the Finns could rely on to give sufficent tactical mobility before the introduction of APCs in FDF. The Jaegers and their bicycles would be transported to the area of operations by Auto Companies equipped with trucks with bicycle-stands. Then the Jaegers would use the bicycles to move around in the battlefield. Normally the bicycles were left behind when deploying for attack, and the Jaegers would attack dismounted. This of course required them to collect the bicycles later on.*
*
In some occations, such as pursuit of retreating enemy, the Jaegers would continue the attack mounted, driving arrogantly into contact with the enemy, and then dismounting - sometimes even under fire. The first unit in contact would quickly try to overpower the enemy and allow the next unit to continue the attack through their positions. This technique was used in late 1941 and proved effective, especially when tanks were supporting the Jaegers. The key to success then was to provide the point of the attacking Jaegers with sufficent firepower in form of tanks, mortars, AT-weapons and machineguns as well as pioneer support if the enemy could lay mines in front of the attacker. These assets would be attached to the company on point so that their concentrated fire could be in use against the detected enemy within minutes. When the lead company was changed, the most important support units would then join its attack formation.*
*
After WW2 the attack technique used by the bicycle equipped Jaegers was continued being used. Pursuit, meeting-engagement and movement into contact would be conducted this way, while prepared attacks would still be done dismounted. The use of bicycles as main form of transportation was continued untill sufficent amount of APCs was in use. Used in training the army bicycle would still see action all the way to current day, receiving the ire of multiple generations of young Finnish conscripts.*

NOTE:*
The bicycle units ingame are highly vulnerable to enemy indirect fire, and may get immobilized when receiving damage. Don't get pinned down against superior enemy with your bicycles - use other units for that. When the enemy starts to crumble, push the bicycle Jaegers through the hole in enemy lines and fully utilize the speed in pursuit.*
