PanzerJaeger Company of Mechanized Battlegroup*
*
These PzJaeger companies are trained in Armoured Brigade, Hameenlinna. The company is some 240 men strong and it consists of CO, XO, command/support platoon and a logistics platoon. CO and XO both have their own IFVs. The PzJaeger platoons all have 4 BMP-2s, 3 pzjaeger sections, a sniper and an AT-Patrol. The fire-support section is armed with 2 81mm mortars.*
*
The PzJaeger companies fight in close cooperation with the Leopard companies (or as company pairs or cross-attached). Close range fighting is usually done dismounted with vehicles supporting with direct fire and infantry flanking the enemy. Replacing BMP-1 with BMP-2 has caused the need for 4th vehicle as the amount of troops carried by a single vehicle has dropped. The 4th platoon is in most cases attached to a Leopard company to increase their firepower against enemy infantry at close ranges.*

MECHANIZED BATTLEGROUP:*
*
The Mech BGs are operational units that use the newer Leopard tanks as well as the older equipment removed from the Armoured Brigades (disbanded in 2007). The battlegroup is specially made for meeting-engagement. It's best used in open terrain with smaller wooded areas where the vehicles can use long firing distance to neutralize enemies and also have cover provided by the woods and buildings. In urban terrain the BG needs infantry support.*
*
The BG is made of following units:*
-HQ company (with signal, recce (4xBMP-2), ATGM (4xBMP-2) and SPAA (3 x ItPsv 90) -platoons)*

-Mortar Company (9x 120mm towed)*
-SPA Battalion (18 x 122 PsH 74)*
