Starfury Beginners Guide V.1 Starfury is a space action game thats easy to get into.It does not have burdening menu's to wade through.The action is sometimes intense and hot during combat. But you gotta know the rules.Otherwise you will get killed fast and discouraged.In my first game my destroyer got killed by a pirate fighter. I put the game aside and forgot about it,but did try again later on.You can pic your missions and leave the main quest aside for a while.It is recommended to do so until you have at least a cruiser. A battleship or higher makes things easier.You will encounter multiple enemies in cruisers so it helps to have some power on your side. Starting a game. You will only have chioces for a name of ship and captain and the difficulty level. I always play on expert or advanced.The difference probably has dome damage done by enemies, but I notice you have more enemies on the higher levels. Like 1 or 2 on normal and 3,4,5 on expert and advanced.More enemies means more loot and xp's.I like that. Controls Read the manual for the complete list of controls. I will cover the important ones you need to know. G Shows grid \ Full speed Backspace Full stop ] Increase speed 1/4 [ Decrease speed 1/4 T Target nearest enemy O Clear targetting,that's letter o R Radar mode Spacebar Pause 1 Fires weapons RMB Targets objects LMB Click for direction you want to go So it begins Click the g key for the grid.Target the spacestation RMB hit ] once for 1/4 power and head on over.Watch your distance. When you get to 25-30 ls away the Shuttle over lights up.Stop your speed with [ . Click on shuttle over for your briefing. The menu gives you choices.Click on Terran Contact for your briefing.The menu choices are simple.You also see spacedock, gnn news, ship dealer and commerce options(for jobs) and others.You can practice your flying skills now in the first system if you wish.You won't have any pirates in it.Use the LMB click away from the space station toward empty space and click \ which is full speed.Don't forget to stop and reduce speed using the [ and ] keys. Once you leave the first system you will be flying in space filled with enemies.They will target you and take you down.So flying around is always done at full speed. Decisions,decisions You have your mission. Accumilate 50,000 credits and report to Yorkshire 111.This can wait forever if you so desire and I recommend you get a battleship or carrier.A cruiser is minimum.What do you have? A destroyer with the minimum armor,shields and weapons.You are going to go up against cruisers and even battleships with this and beat them? Yes with the proper equipment otherwise your dead meat. You need better equipment,income to pay for it. What to do? Sell equipment you really don't need for cash and buy quantum engines.Your ion engines go 500 speed this is the bottom of the ladder.Your armor,shields and weapons stink. So don't even think about combat yet.Fly on over toward earth and the moon.Get yourself to spot in between both so you are in shuttle range for both. You can simply click on either one without moving. When you are in the right place now you can go SHOPPING.The inventory of the spacedock changes as soon as you visit another spacedock. What you want to do is sell your ion engines,weapons,combat sensor and ecm.Done properly youi can get over 30,000 for them.You want to buy 3 quantum engines level 1.This gives you 800 speed which is good enough to outrun missiles and pirates. Buying and Selling The price for buying and selling varies randomly.So just go shopping to the other spacedock until you get the price you want.For buying quantum L1 the prices I got were 9,000 to 10.710.For selling your stuff ion engines sold for 2,580 to 2.760.Sell all your stuff when you get a high offer.Keep shopping to get 3 quantum engines for under 30,000. Now you can pick a cargo (fedex) type of job. Job 1 For your first job you want a single jump to vedrin junction.If you can get 2 to the same system and have the room for it in your cargo good. Watch your cargo space so you don't exceed your limit.An overloaded ship loses speed.You don't want that right now.You can find commercial jobs listed at earth,mars,mercury and juppiter.After you get a job its time to head out. Dialog First officer: Captain you sold our weapons,combat sensors and ecm.What are we gonna do if we run into pirates? Captain: We run like hell number one. First Jump See the firstjump.jpg for a screenie. Hit the R so you can see the entire system.The warp point is SE or about 120 degrees.Get used to the system map and heading system.North is always 0,east is 90,south is 180,west is always 270.Head on out at full speed.You always jump at full speed. Pirates like to hide at warp points and attack after a jump.Going full speed they won't bother you much. Notice the text chatter from the ships.The different factions have a different color.If you see chatter thats purple then its always pirates,red is Xiati,etc. When you see enemy chatter then it means more loot to be had.Fedex missions are relatively safe and really a slow way to gain money.The most profitable and fastest way to gain money is salvaging loot either from your kills or tcn's work. It must be said the most annoying event is to get killed by collisions.It will happen at sometime.The game automatically saves each time you jump into a system.Some of the ai pilots aren't so great either.The game randomly generates its map for each game.Sometimes asteroid fields are real close to a jump point.This can make things a bit hairy when you jump into a system for the first time.After all this make your first jump into vedrin junction at full speed.If you don't have any pirates waiting for you, good.At higher difficulty your can have pirates on your first jump.After your jump click on the system map screen to find out where vedrin 5 or 6 are and head out to them.Fedex missions have a time limit so deliver your goods quickly.Take notice if enemies are present or combat is going on. Equipment After your first job you have some money.You want to buy a heavy weapon (seekers).Your choice is torps or missiles.You want the most range and damage.At this point it doesn't matter which you buy as long as you have something.Missiles have the same damage over range but less range 140 ls.The torps have decreasing damage over range but go out to 180 ls.Try to get at least 1 seeker.If there is none go to the other commerce planet and try again.If there is combat in the system get close and wait for tcn ships to win. Then pick up the loot by flying over it.Loot is shown as blinking crates.No one else will claim it.Sometimes the loot from ships is illegal cargo.When this happens all friendly ships go hostile as long as it is in your hold.Immediately open your ship screen and move the illegal cargo to to left side and dump it. Doing this removes the hostile flag from you.In the close up radar screen enemies are red and friendlies are blue.The order of equipment you want to get is like this: 1 seeker,point defense cannon,2nd seeker or light weapon,Duc cannon for light weapon they weigh the least and replace your rear 10kt shield with a 20 kt shield.The equipped ship has: 2 seekers,1 duc cannon,1 point defense cannon and 20 kt shield in the rear.If you can't get all the equipment you can try another fedex job for money.Try to get a job back to the sol system.Usually the first time you enter a blue system enemies are not present at lower difficulty levels.The second time you enter the same system expect enemies. If you can get ajob back to the sol system there will be pirates.There is also tcn in force and a starbase with firepower to rip them to shreds.Deliver your goods first then fly around looking for loot.When flying around get into the habit of tapping the T key this targets the nearest enemy.Also look for loot. " Your trash is my cash".If you find pirates away from the starbase try to pull them toward it.Get in their range then fly off toward the starbase. Combat Combat in your destroyer is like medieval jousting.You charge into range fire then bug off.The enemy is doing the same thing.You can take down a destroyer with 1 seeker,but a cruiser is more difficult.The point defense will wipe out your seeker a lot.With 2 seekers a cruiser becomes easier.The point defense may hit 1 but not both doing damage.The closer you get to the enemy before you fire the better.When you engage in combat hit the R key for 300ls radar range.Hostiles are red,friendlies are blue.It's usually better if you can close in to an enemy's rear or side.Facing them head on is less productive.So the proceedure is charge in until your in range then fire and head out away from the enemy's missile which is coming at you.Missiles show up as white dots on the radar screen and you can see them heading toward you.Remember the quantum engines you bought? Now they earn their keep.You can outrun the missiles.Just keep going until they do.Then charge in again.Nothing will fire unless the enemy is targeted.Right click or the T key does this.With a well equipped destroyer you can take down a Xiati battleship.It just takes a while.I have done it. Experience You gain xp's by fedex misions and combat.More from combat.The ships shields,armor and hull slowly regenerate,but not until you gain the first level.Do a few fedex misions or combat to get the first level.Apply your points as such: 1 pt shield regen,2 pts armor and 2pts hull. Repeat until you have .5 armor and .5 hull regen.The shields have a diferent scale.After you reach this level you can put a point into defense and offense.So it would be 1pt to shield,armor,hull,defense and offense. I never bothered with the rest of the options.When you have at least 1 level up you are ready and an equiped ship (2 seekers,pt defense,1 duc).Now you are ready for the neutral zones (green systems). As you gain levels do upgrade your equipment as soon as you can to a higher level,eg L2 ,L3 for all.Try to get your cargo holds to a higher level as soon as you can.They are also cheap.So you can carry more loot.When cashing in loot repair it first.You will find that 1 system jump missions become scarce.You pass through a system with combat going on.If you wait around or engage you will lose time and possibly fail your delivery mission.So in this type of situation pass through delivery your cargo and go back if you wish.After delivering goods exit the planet back to your ship.Click on the different directions looking for signs of combat and fly around the system looking for action and leftover loot.Once you have combat figured out it does not pay to deliver cargo. The Neural Zone The wild west filled with lots of enemies and xp's and loot.Love this place.But why do we want to go there so soon? Plasma missiles that's why.Have range of 180 and the most damaging payload and most important they weigh 40 kt. Less then the normal seeker weight of 50kt.Take a job for Bertram or Pantrissa and go there. Just rush through Bertram if you have to go to Pantrissa first. Unload your cargo when you get there.Look for action and join in if you wish.Then go to a neutral space dock and look for plasma missiles.I recommend going shopping here until you get 2 plasma missiles.Save your game parked outside of a planet then reload the game.Check the spacedock inventory and repeat until you get what you came for.With 2 plasma missiles you can add another duc.The only other addition I make is a scanner jammer.Its a green colored thing.There is not enough room in a destroyer for combat sensors and ecm.I wait until I get a cruiser for them.So now with a better equipped destroyer you can take down a Xiati battleship.It just takes a while. Upgrading Ships Let the main quest wait.There is no rush.Ships, the biggest problem is room or lack of room.All the ships in stock Starfury are undersized. When upgrading don't go for the 1st model.Wait for the 3rd model.Get a cruiser mk3 not mk1.You want room for armor, shields,weapons and extra goodies.So with a destroyer worth 150,000 credits you need 450,000 to get a maxed terran cruiser.The Abbidon ships have more tonnage but cost more.How long does it take to get 450,000 credits? Not long if you are hunting enemies,but long if you are doing fedex jobs.The neutral zones have lots of enemies. Equals more xp's more loot.You will need to do about 100 fedex jobs to raise 450,000 credits.If you figure out combat then it goes a lot quicker.Flying into a green system with 3 or 4 enemies can net 40 or 50k of loot.The enemies all fight each other and you.The fazra,amonkrie,xiati and pirates all fight each other and you.You can come upon a party of 4 ships duking it out.You can wait for the spoils or jump in. I like to jump in and earn my xp's.Target 1 enemy and avoid the rest.Stay on one enemy until he's down.Picking up loot can wait until the party is over.If its 3 fazra and one pirate fighting it out,the pirate will lose.Then the fazra will come after you.I would jump in and help the pirate.To even the odds a bit.Having 3 ships attack you at the same time is a bit hairy,but winable.Some of the best combats are 4 or 5 ships going at each other and you. The Cruiser When you finally have your 450,000 credits, find a terran ship dealer or a neutral shipdealer.The terran ship dealers will have it stock,but the neutral ship dealers inventory is random.You might have to go shopping.Anyway after you purchase the ship go into the spacedock to set it up.Sell all the level 1 shields and armor.Swap all your armor,shields and weapons from your destroyer and place them in their location in your cruiser.The cruiser has 700kt of space.That's 2x more,but it has 6 engines and slots for 4 more weapons.You also need an afterburner and another 25kt power reactor for the weapons.Buy some quantum engines to get your speed up to 800,which is the max for a cruiser. Upgrade your shields to 20kt and armor to 10kt.Add a power reactor (25kt) so you have 2.Try to keep the ratio of power to weapons a minimum of 2.5. That means you have 40 power regen to 100 weapon usage.This will suffice,but you will need to recharge if you get into heavy combat like against a starbase.So if you have the room an extra power genrator doesn't hurt.Add 2 more duc in the light weapon slots and go to a neutral spacedock for toxic injectors.Add them to your right and left side heavy weapon slots.About weapons.The most effective weapons become available in the endgame.So i won't mention them now.The most effective weapons for now are the tachyon cannons and toxic injectors.The tachyon cannons penetrate all shields,but weigh 35kt.Going through the shields helps do some hurt fast.You will find out when pirates and xiati use them against you.The plasma missiles do the most damage for seekers,but the toxic injector is more effective and has less range 140.That is because the toxic injector ignores shields and kills your crew.You got 10000 shields and armor and zero crew.You die.The amonkrie use the toxic injector against you.Watch your crew level.Its the pink colored bar.The anti-proton beam has more range,but does not pierce shields and weighs 30kt.Again you runout of room for your ship fast.The ai's always have more shields and armor then you do.So here's my cuiser setup: Armor 10kt Shields 20kt 2x 25kt power reactors med bay 2x point defense cannons 4 duc 2 plasma missiles 2 toxic injectors (side slots) afterburner ecm combat sensor scanner jammer 2x cargo holds Now if you do this right you will have a total space of 670kt.That leaves 30 kt for slack.You can try 2 tachyon cannons upfront or add a shield regenerator or extra cargo hold.The med bay is a must have.It regens your crew from attacks on you.One of the problems using the toxic injector is friendly fire from yourself.Fire a toxic misille and fly into the back of one will take out your own crew.You got to watch this. The amonkrie use them against you.When you are familiar with the sound of the toxic injector and hear it coming from an enemy,back off.Your point defense will take it out,but not always.When you have a battleship or carrier,all your heavy weapon slots will carry the toxic injector.You can get one shot kills when 2 or 3 misilles hit at the same time on an enemy. Cruiser combat Its hard to tell what your level is in this game.The only way to tell is to see what level of components are for sale in the space dock. I got to level 10 when i could afford to buy my cruiser.Combat with the cruiser is not much different then the destroyer.You have weapons on the right and left side so now you do the dance.The heavier shields and armor allow you to get closer to your enemy and duke it out with them.You fly in close enough to fire your beam weapons then turn right or left and back again firing all of them while trying not to crash into them at the same time.The dance is as follows: go into beam range fire then turn right (or left),fire the opposite side weapons then turn left firing the right side weapons then straighten out.The forward weapons should have recharged by now so fire them again.All this takes place while you are going after your enemy and keeping them in beam range.At the same time you are taking damage from their weapons,but your shields and armor should hold up.If you get too much damage back off.This can happen when facing mutiple enenmies or a xiati battleship.The xiati battleship can fire several of those nice plasma misilles at you and wipe out your front shields and weapons.Back off if you need to.Xiati battleships and carriers are the hardest enemies you will face until you hit act 3.The carriers aren't that hard it's the swarm of fighters you have to deal with.Another combat move is the "turn around,turn around" dance.This very useful with the abbidon battleship which has the same weapon slots forward as backward.That means 4 weapons point forward and backward.When you get close enough to an enemy fire then start turning.Your forward speed stops when turning so keep clicking to the right or left and spin around.Fire front,side,rear,side,front weapons.This unloads some ordinance and uses up your energy fast.The "turn around" dance is useful against starbases when you have beefy shields and armor to hold up against them.It spreads the damage on you to all sections not just your front shields.So now you can get close and personal with the enemies in your cruiser.Practice your combat and get loot for your next upgrade.You can earn some serious loot with the cruiser.Your next decision is either the abbidon cruiser or a battleship. The abbidon cruiser has 200kt more room.That's the 2nd model mk3,900 kt max.So you could add 40kt shields and 10kt armor to what you already have.At level 10 my terran cruiser had 280 shields 20kt, and 120 armor 10kt.It is not the best cruiser.The best cruiser design is not called a cruiser.I call it the SUPER CRUISER and it is my favorite.Next time battleships. BIG SHIPS Once you get your 1st cruiser you can now earn some credits.Try out the mercenary guilds for jobs.Usually take out some bad person for credits,normally over 10,000 worth.You also get to keep their loot afterward, earning around 50,000 each time if your lucky.I accepted 2 jobs for clearing out some pirates in the same system.Since I was going there why not get a 2 at the same time deal? As it turns out the game spawned a pirate wolf pack not attached to the 2 merc jobs.At least 5 pirate ships in this pack.I ran away from them and headed to the targets.On quest jobs your system map will show red dots for your targets wherever they are in the system.After completing the quests I finished off the wolf pack.Lottsa loot from this one.I was playing on expert difficulty so I don't think you will get 5 extra ships in quests if you are playing normal difficulty.You will get some though.So earning cash is a bit easier and quicker.Now to plan your next upgrade. BATTLESHIPS Only have 3 to choose from: Xiati,tcn or abbidon.Your tcn cruiser has 700kt total weight. Lets use this as a base.Xiati 1070 kt,tcn 1120 kt, abbidon 1220 kt are the stats. Battleships use 9 engines and need manuevering thrusters.Added 50 kt to the got to have list.Also 4 more weapon slots.Figure 200 kt for this ( I added a power reactor in this).So this makes 950 kt if you swap all your stuff over from your cruiser to your next ship (armor,shields,weapons,etc).Doing the math that leaves you with 120 kt room if you buy the Xiati ship, 170 kt for the tcn and 270 for the abbidon battleship.You can beef up your shields and armor with this extra.The winner here is the Abbidon battleship. I have played all 3 battleships in the game.The hardest to use was the Xiati.It lacks room. I had to leave 2 heavy weapon slots empty to make this work.The TCN battleship wasn't bad.The only feature I didn't like was that 8 weapons are jammed up close together in the nose section.If you take a lot of damage from a couple of missiles, It can wipe out your main weapons forcing a retreat to repair.The Abbidon battleship is the best one of them all.More room for shields and armor and works really well for the spinning around tactic.Which is get up close and start spinning around firing weapons as soon as they can.The Abbidon cruiser isn't a bad choice either.Think of 200 kt extra shields and armor to your tcn cruiser.My tcn cruiser had 280 shields and 120 armor.The Abbidon cruiser would hold 840 shields and 240 armor at the same level. So battleships aren't the end of the line.Lets go on to Carriers. CARRIERS or SUPERCRUISERS I have to admit I have never used a carrier the way it is supposed to be used.That is using fighters to do the job.Fighters cost around 30,000 each and get killed off so combat gets expensive if you have to replace 3 fighters each time you do battle.On the other hand,Its big has 8 weapons slots just like the cruiser and twice the tonnage,1400 kt or 1600 kt.The carrier uses 8 engines and needs the manuevering thrusters.That's 40 kt.You can add 2 more point defense cannons,40 kt.So that's 620 or 820 kt more room for shields and armor.Now that's why I call it the super cruiser.My first choice is for the TCN carrier even though it has 200 kt less room.The reason for this is the weapon arcs for the heavy weapon slots.All heavy weapons can be fired straight ahead.You go in and fire off 4 toxic injectors then turnoff.If 3 of the injectors hit you get 1 shot kills.This is helpful during the main quest.You will have multiple enemies in cruisers and you want to take them down quickly.The Abbidon carrier has the same weapon layout as your cruiser and 1600 kt total weight.Lots of room for goodies.In act 3 you will want a shield regenerator and hull repair module.It is a must have situation.So after you get your big ship setup,go out and beat up some xiati battleships for lunch.Get used to combat in your big ship.Now we go on to the main quest.Next up is the walkthrough for Act 1. WALKTHROUGH ACT 1 Mission 1 Accumulate 50,000 credits as a merchant from the Yorkshire system. Go to Yorkshire III on completion. Your first mission.Ignore this until you have your endgame ship ready.That means you have a battleship or carrier ready to take on 3 enemy ships and take out a starbase.A destroyer will not do.A large cruiser,abbidon 2 mk3, will work,but that would be the minmum. Mission 2 Perform 3 Pirate Mercenary Guild missions. Go to Urtiri VI on completion. Nothing special here.It costs 50,000 to get in.When you choose the pirate missions some of the targets are tcn or abbidon ships.If you fire on them all friendlies will turn hostile against you in that system only.You can go shopping for pirate missions in the green systems.Almost all green systems will have a planet that offers access to the pirate mercenary guild. Mission 3 Hunt the Romanov Pirate Clan. Expect destroyers and maybe a fighter.Depends on your level.If you have a big ship no problem.If you have been reading this faq this far, I have given you options and recommendations.This is where it starts to get into it.Multiple enemies and action. Mission 4 Hunt the Zulu Pirate Clan More multiple ship combat. Mission 5 Protect Zealot Starbase Ok this a change of pace.The starbase has a lot of firepower and can handle it's own.You just give a little extra help.Don't get it the way or you will take friendly fire.Stay close to the starbase and engage the enemies. Mission 6 Escort the Dagger You will usually fail this mission.Dagger has a deathwish and attacks all hostiles.The only way you can complete this mission is if the game spawns dagger away from enemies and you can get to him before the enemies do.If you have the supercruiser and can do one shot kills quickly you have a chance of success.Don't go away and hunt down the pirates because dagger will attack enemy ships and get him,her,itself wasted. Mission 7 Destroy the Mogol Pirate Base Some good action on this one.The support ships aren't really helpful.So don't expect them to be there.They will be in the system, but they are slackers.The starbase isn't really that hard except for one thing.If you go in close and start pounding away,you will find that the pirates use ionic missiles a lot.This will kill your engines down to zero preventing you from moving at all.Not a good thing.To defeat the pirate starbase use your heavy missiles to take it out.Move into range, fire and bugout.It's not moving so that's not a problem.The starbase slowly rotates exposing a different side of its shields and armor.Try to keep pounding on the same area.If your are using toxic injectors then as soon as the crew dies it's over.10,000 shields and armor, no crew,you die.That ends Act1.you can move on to Act2 or not.No need to stick around unless you want to upgrade your ship if you didn't do that already like I told you. ACT 2 Mission 1 Perform 3 Abbidon Mercenary Guild missions. Go to the Ezrin Starbase on completion. Nothing special here.The hardest mission is to clear out a system of Xiati battle groups.You get battleships and carriers with escort ships along for the ride.If you can complete this the rest is easy.Good practice for your combat skills. Mission 2 Deliver Cargo A fedex job that takes several system jumps.Don't bother to engage the hostiles.There is a time limit. Mission 3 Destroy Xiati In The Olontra System If you didn't take destroy a battlegoup mission for the Abbidon mercenary guild,now you get to do it.Lots of ships with escorts.They are spread around the system.There is some help,but don't count on it.You should be the baddest ship here.Go kick butt. Mission 4 Protect Ezrin Starbase Protect the starbase.Stay relatively close and take out the enemies.Expect battleships and carriers with escorts.The starbase has power so let them do some of the work.Don't go way out to the spawn point of the Xiati.You could get killed if you are at the exact location where the Xiati warp in. Mission 5 Destroy the Xiltro Starbase You get to destroy the Xiati starbase all by yourself.The help is fighting Xiati ships.You can get close and duke it out with the starbase.Get within beam range and do the turn around tactic.Keep turning and firing all weapons.You might have to adjust your location to keep pounding on the same area.The starbases slowly turn exposing a different side of their shields and armor. Mission 6 Destroy Pirate Freighters You have to travel a bit to get there.Destroy all pirate freighters.There is a bunch of them.Otherwise no big deal. Mission 7 Destroy Fazrah Cruisers Go find and destroy the fazra cruisers.Nothing special here.Just another job. Mission 8 Destroy the Knoglam Starbase Another starbase job another paycheck.Shouldn't be a problem.After this you are done with Act 2.You can move on or not. ACT3 This is the endgame.Everthing up to now is preperation for the most difficult enemies in the game.If you can eat Xiati battleships for lunch without breaking a sweat then stop reading now.In act 3 you meet the Sithrak. Mission 1 Destroy Pirate Freighters You have done this before.Some storyline and plot added. Mission 2 Destroy Fazrah Ships Nothing special.Some traveling and a job.More plot building. Mission 3 Scan Amonkrie Research Outpost Simple, too simple.More plot building. Mission 4 Scan the Sithrak Portal This is the most awaited mission in the game.You get to meet the Sithrak.They are the hardest enemies for a simple reason.They have the null space projector which is shield and armor piercing.It has a range of 150 and point defense takes them out.So fighting against the sithak is like fighting without shields and armor.Count on your heavy weapons,toxic injectors work very well, to do the job for you.Forget about getting close and duking it out.You will lose quickly.Go back to destroyer tactics.Get close enough to fire your missiles and bug off.The repair bay becomes a must from here on out.The other most effective weapon is the psychic flailer,a light beam weapon.In this mission you get your first access to these weapons from destroyed sithrak ships.That means you have to destroy the sithrak ships to get these goodies. Your mission is to scan the sithrak portal and leave without too much contact.Ignore the contact part and do not destroy the portal.You get to do that later on.Save before you enter the system.When you enter the sithrak are wiping out all Amonkrie in the system.There will be destroyers,cruisers,battleships and fighters all over the place.The destroyers aren't much of a problem,but the cruisers and up are.You want sithrak weapons,you need sithrak weapons.Welcome to Amonkrie weapons shop, cheap.Just go out and defeat the sithrak.Start anywhere and slowly defeat all sithrak in the system.Don't try to take on more then one cruiser or larger at a time.Sometimes it gets a bit difficult.Any hits on your ship from the null space projector does some serious hurt.So stay away and use those heavy weapons.Toxic injectors work well and ignore shields and armor but have a short range of 140.Whatever works for you.Scan the loot for the null space projector and psychic flailer.That's what you want to get.The subspace rupture beam isn't worth trying.At least I haven't bothered with them.They are heavy.What you want out of this mission is at least one or more null space projectors.the psychic flailer is good to take,but has short beam range.Take them if they are there.After all the sithrak are dead scan the portal and exit the system.Go to a space port and equip your new toys.They work very well against your enemies.If you don't get any null space toys reload and try it again.Yes its a pain but you really want them. Mission 5 Destroy Sithrak Scout Ships More sithrak,more chance to get sithrak weapons.Eventually you want to have all your heavy and light weapons swapped.One thing i have noticed is around level 23 or 24 the anti-proton beams get some extra range out to 14 or so.This could be useful if your going slow through the game and are at that level.Against the sithrak range counts. Mission 6 Destroy the Jinook Starbase Now you get to destroy a sithrak starbase.Don't get too close and those null space projectors work real good.At this point sithrak ships should be in other systems.If you still need their weapons you know what to do.Otherwise you don't have to engage them and stick to the mission. Mission 7 Destroy the Sithrak Portal Now you get to destroy the portal.Lots of traveling to the place and sithrak ships are in varous systems along the way.You should have all your sithrak weapons or whatever works for you by now.There is a time limit on this one.If you fail its game over without any special announcement.The missions end.So go take care of business and sightsee on the way back. Mission 8 Destroy the Sithrak Dreadnought What there's a bigger ship out there? Yes.Same rules apply.Get close enough to fire and bug off.Seems a bit easier if you approach from the rear or side.head on is the hardest.You have to dodge weapons coming at you.There will be other ships along for the ride against you.don't try to take on more then one at a time if you can.After this return for all your medals and thats all folks.So you finished the game.Maybe time to try out some mods.
