Errw00t..... no, the day after tomorrow you mean.

That is, IF the Malfador offices are by then not gone due to successive tidal waves and ice ages.....

I guess it will be a long couple a days while we wait on the news.

I was just reflecting on what I was doing when SE4 was about to go bata. My how things change. I was starting MCSE classes and basically had time to burn. Now I work in IT doing nothing that was covered in the classes. Almost everything I do now is learned on the fly as I get a new project.

Yeah, a lot of the time material covered in school is stuff you won't be needing all that often, but often enough it comes in handy. For me, I haven't learned all that much in CS courses that I haven't learned on my own. Some of the profs don't even have a clue how the real world works (or about CS in general...)

<ot thread hijack>

It's been my experience that university CS professors are people who couldn't make the cut in the Math department. Really, there are very few people that actually do "Computer Science" in the real world. The only point of a degree is to prove that you can learn things, and really, the only difference between a university CS degree and a trade school degree is the breadth of education and a little bit of theory.

Looking forward to some screenies finally. DEG and Aaron get to show of their work.

Oh, in CS, you're supposed to learn some very important bits of theory, and how to actually do software development. Any monkey can code, but coding well to a good design, well, that is the trick. Theory is quite important.
I think the lack of capable CS professors is due to the lack of CS professionals in general. The competent ones with the upper level degrees are making real money, not teaching. Most of my profs have no industry experience, and a few are quite clueless.

At the end of the month we'll have a lottery for the slots and announce them here on our website.

I wonder if that means we're going to find out if we've made it tomorrow...
