That I did, now you should check yours.

I would also like to remind everyone that in-game messages are the preferred way of contacting the rulers of other nation, since some might not log into their forum accounts that often.

I am giving notice of the retration of the Nap3 between Arco and Pangea on turn 20 with ths turn counting as turn 1 as you have received this before the hosting and can take whatever actions you deem necessary.

As an Honorable Nation I am returning this turn the 20 Nature Gems that was sent last turn with my regrets.

This is nothing personal and only due to expansion needs.

Hostilities, if any will commence on turn 22.

We reached turn 20 ... so i extended the hosting intervall to 48h. It is rumored that Ghostrider won't keep that peaceful.

Re: Ghost Riders: Newbie Game PBEM

I must Apologize to Pangea, TC, and the rest of the Nations of Ghostriders.

I was out of town playing ball at the start of the game and directed my wife to make certain moves (as she has done this before).

Pangea had shown up at my Northern Border on turn 3 or 4 with a LARGE Army and if I remember right his pretender.

I directed my Wife to ask for a 3 or 5 turn Nap and she informed me that he had agreed to a nap.....

I then ran out of expansion room and noticed TC had taken a good bite out of Pangea so I made a nap with the Honorable TC and broke my nap with Pangea as I felt forced into to begin with.

I checked my notebook to make sure it wasn't a 5 turn Nap instead of a 3.....

SIGH....MY wife MADE A 50 TURN NAP:eek:, Thats right...a 50 turn nap with Pangea (nice job Pangea, you must have clairvoyance)

As most of you know I will NOT go agianst an agreement I entered into.

With the way the game has taken a right turn and the promises I have made, I have no alternative but to bow out of the game with my MOST sincere apologies.

I will NOT go AI as that would be the same as breaking a Nap.

I invite Pangea and all those that border me to take what they can starting next turn.

I only ask that you do it quickly. I will be pulling all my troops into 1 province and when it comes down to that province ..THEN I will go AI so come prepared.

To those that do not border me...I will send gems and money in rotation to try and make up for this IDIOT move.

LOL, my wife is now banned from D3:p

I'm sorry guys!!!:o

Re: Ghost Riders: Newbie Game PBEM

just out of curiosity, your bowing out because you can't attack Pangea? i mean, i'm not trying to question you, but it sounds like sommething else went wrong right? i mean, i'm sure Pangea will understand, and if not, you always have other neighbors right?

GrudgeBringer May 8th, 2009 06:19 AM

Re: Ghost Riders: Newbie Game PBEM

I am one of those guys that hold every agreement sacred.

I have cultivated that reputation from my first game, and because of that I have people that trust me when I offer a nap that thier borders are secure under all circumstances.

While I can and will give a notice and go to war, it is thought out and usually is in conjuntion with someone else.

That was the case here, while I was pondering options TC attacked Pangea and since I kind of felt (I wasn't there) that I was forced into asking for a nap, I decided that the option of throwing in with TC was my only option.

When I found out that I had a 50 turn nap (and the more I think of it....it might have been a typo for 5 turn nap, she agreed to it anyway which effectively takes out 1 of my options for the entire game.

If I was Pangea and was being attacked I certainly would expect Arco to hold to the nap...mistake or not.

Call it a quirk, but I would have felt shackeled for the rest of the game.

I have tried to make sure Everyone gets a little compensation and I am sorry if I disrupted the game.

My suggestion id to jump in if you can and grab a piece of territory.

Thanks for commenting though and giving me a chane to explain myself....

mighty_scoop May 8th, 2009 01:40 PM

Re: Ghost Riders: Newbie Game PBEM

To be honest ...a 50 turn Nap is ridiculous. Everybody playing this game should get it straight that it had to be a typing error. I hope Denisius understand this situatian and agree to treat your nap as a 5 turn one. Until this situation is cleared i will postpone the hosting. It would be misery if Grudgebringer is bowing out because of that and would totally screw the game (i would even benefit because i have borders to acro but i don't want to).
So i hope we could solve this problem not with Acro leaving the game.

Greetings

Alpine Joe May 8th, 2009 01:59 PM

Re: Ghost Riders: Newbie Game PBEM

Yeah arco bowing out messes up the game far more than will relating the misunderstanding to Pangaea. Mistakes happen, and the first solution is not exiting the game in a disruptive fashion. Your reputation won't be sullied by this one event. We all understand and I'm sure the Pangaea player will as well.

GrudgeBringer May 8th, 2009 02:03 PM

Re: Ghost Riders: Newbie Game PBEM

If Pangea agrees its 5 turns I will stay of course and play.

I want him to realize that I will have served the notice that the 5 turn Nap is now null and hostilities can commence on turn 24 and I will be Napped with TC as I will attack Pangea.

IF he feels that the only way to survive is to keep to the 50 turn Nap that I think MUST be a typo as he is not some NOOB and a good player, I will honor that and withdraw.

Furthermore, I will NOT hold it agianst him in future games in any way, shape, or form.

Nor will I mention it ever happened to anyone.

I could have read my notebook as soon as I got back home so I am at fault also.

I just want to make it clear that this is a massive screwup and not just on one persons fault.

I am very embarrased that this happened but will live with it and learn.

Thanks for all the support from the other nations.

Actually (LOL), I liked the way Helheim put it in the forum!!!

I will check back and will go in any direction you gentlemen decide.

GrudgeBringer May 8th, 2009 06:04 PM

Re: Ghost Riders: Newbie Game PBEM

I would suggest you talk to Pangea in privite with the knowledge nothing will be held agianst him regardless of what he says or does.

I REALLY feel bad I put him in this situation as If I had been here, this of course would not have happened.

I agree that a nation my size would disrupt the game as some will get numerous Provinces with no risk and shoot ahead of others....regardless of how much I try and compensate the others.

But Pangea is no less valuable to the game and he is a good player.

I will just say this....

If it was a 3 turn Nap I would have attacked him, and if it was a 5 turn Nap I also would have attacked him (I may not have won but I would have attacked).

But I also am a stickler for the unwritten rules and sometimes things just fall thru the cracks.

I don't want to hold the game up as we where cruising right along (good job folks!!), but I have my turn set up for an exit and if I am staying I need to talk to TC and redo my turn.

Because of Mothers Day we are not playing out of town and I am taking a well deserved break at the Pub this evening, I will check the Forum before I go out (in about 4 hours max) and have been known to close it up more than once.

Thanks for the support Scoop and Joe.

I know this looks simple to work out but lets not forget Pangea is in this also.

One thing I like about D3 is that there is a multitude of serious gamers and very intelligent people from all over the world that care about the game just because it is a game....

I am to prepare to drool all over myself now and will check later, I hope but can't promise that I won't feel like this in the morning:hurt:.

... and that's by far the most important thing ... it's a game ... we want to have fun with it. Letting you drop out of the game because of a typing error is just stupid and not fun for us all. So let's hope will get it back to normal.
Don't get stressed ... as i said the game is postponed ... it is a very good game so far and i don't want to let it getting wasted this way.

Sorry about not providing my input, I did not see any new posts been made in an extended period of time and thought that this discussion is inactive.

GrudgeBringer, there is no need for you to stop playing. If I were to know that a 50 turn NAP is not agreeable by you, I would not have made it in the first place.

A 5 turn NAP will be just fine.

GrudgeBringer May 9th, 2009 02:58 PM

Re: Ghost Riders: Newbie Game PBEM

have you read the whole post on this....I have brokrn the Nap effective this turn, sent your gems back and have Napped up with TC,

I will be attacking you in 5 turns this counting as turn 1.

I want to make sure you understand this whole situation before I do anything....

If I don't hear from you or get any input I will assume you have read this whole thread and agree.

I'm sorry about the 50 turn Nap...there is just no way anyone can have that in a game from the start.

But I wWILL bow out if you think it means you won't survive a joint attack.

You make the call and then I will submit my turn as we are on hold right now.

Re: Ghost Riders: Newbie Game PBEM

Hello everyone,

I didn't want to say anything on the NAP 5/50 issue as T'ien Ch'i in this case is directly affected. However, Mighty_Scoop reminded me that, as the creator of the game, I should give a statement as well.

This is the first MP I have directly participated in but I have followed a few. I played a lot of SP and as far as I can tell from these games and respective map sizes, a NAP 50 will hinder any player (including Pangaea in this case) considerably. Without giving any in-game info away, it is safe to say that both races would virtually be trapped by such a NAP. Pangaea has agreed to a NAP 5 and Grudgebringer definitely has no reason to fear his reputation, this clearly was a mistake. So Denisius, if all is cool with you, the next turn will be hosted at 1800 GMT on Monday (I finally got to know the hosting magic..).

cheers,

T_B

Re: Ghost Riders: Newbie Game PBEM

Thank you for clarifying things, and thier is no assurance we will win the war to start with...as I said Pangea is a capable player in his own right.

I an redoing my turn and will be as before withthe same Naps (except pangea and I will commence hostilities (if any) in 5 turns (this being turn 1)

I look for peace with my other brothers and have no fear that they have been following the forum and our boundries are safe and defined.

I am sorry to put you all through this and hope its the last discussion we will have to have.

Good luck to all and sorry you all arn't getting any goodies:D

For some reason we have not got the new turn that was due a few hours ago.

I am leaving tomorrow at Noon to 1 PM CST and will not be back until Sunday evening.

I could have (and may still be able to) get this next turn in if we fet it soon, otherwisw I will need an extension until Monday as I am about to go to war.

Any idea why we didn't get the turn as everyone has sent in there turns?

Hi,

I am about to go to Cologne to see AC/DC (yeah!) and I don't want to rush my turn, since it requires tome strategic thinking which I just don't feel capable of after Hells Bells. Right now I'm just too tired to do my turn, so I will delay by 24 hours-- sorry!
