Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Ok, I just ran a test. I downloaded the first .trn, made changes to create a .2h, then downloaded the second .trn. When I loaded the second .trn I got no error message, it remembered the orders I issued from the first .trn and I had an extra commander in my capitol. Essentially one from the first .trn and another from the second. So it looks like it could have been accidental based on the lack of error message. I guess the only option is to rollback again, make sure everyone deletes everything in their CF2 game folder, downloads turn 9 again and rehost?
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
It's early game, your IDs could have not changed. Or you still owned all IDs, even if they were different units. But in that case saving .2h file after using it with new .trn should not cause any problems [but not 100% sure].
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
So wait, are we rolling back again? What's going on?
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Lots of wierd stuff happened. Somehow I had an unexplained increase in wealth (or so it says) and one of the Tuatha I had recruited the turn before had decided that he didn't want to be a commander anymore. I guess I got confused and handed in an earlier trn file. I have no idea what to do now. I figure that it's early enough that we can just restart the whole thing if everyone agreed to it.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
It looks like in one or more cases the first turn 9 (pre-rollback) was saved and a 2h file created. Then the new turn 9 replaced the first turn 9 .trn file - but the 2h file that had already been created was not deleted. This resulted in situations like in my test where, when the new turn 9 was loaded, two commanders appeared in the capitol - one from the first turn 9, the other from the second. When the game hosted it appears this may have resulted in other changes like, in my case, a commander disappearing.
So I think we will need to rollback again. BTW, Zeldor, thanks for your help. |
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Ok, I've rolled back again. Here's what I need everyone to do:
1. Delete any files in your CrippleFight2 folder in saved games - 2h or trn - anything in that folder. 2. Now save the trn file that the llamaserver will resend you into the CrippleFight2 folder like you normally would for a new turn. 3. You will now need to complete your turn 9 again from scratch - luckily this is early game so it shouldn't be too much work. 4. Send your completed turn to the llamaserver as normal. I'd appreciate it if everyone would post here that they have done this so we can avoid another bad turn file. Any questions don't hesitate to ask. |

deleted and redone.

Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Deleted. Not redone yet, but i'm getting to it.

Here's me following directions.

Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
deleted and redone
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
The turn has re-hosted and I have no messages about cheating or missing/added commanders. Hopefully that's the case for everyone else as well. Good job.

Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
I seem to recall something about the recruitable indies in multi-age games being based on EA settings. That would explain the lack of any provinces where I can recruit scouts. I guess I got lucky in CF1 having two provinces where they were available.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Nice, 5 hour turn-around on that turn!
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
I sent my 2h file over an hour ago and llamaserver has not responded or updated the status page. Its also been almost 2h since the page shows it having been updated. With 3h to go until hosting time, this is worrying.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Looks like the llamaserver is having problems again. I tried postponing hosting by a few hours but I don't know if it will accept that instruction. Will post in the llamaserver bug thread.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Everything worked out ok. It's good everyone sent their turns in. Once things got fixed it seems all the turns were processed before the game hosted.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
FYI, I had to request a resend for turn 20.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
I've had that happen occasionally. Turn 19 was unusual in that I requested a resend and didn't receive that either. Eventually the server worked out the problem and sent both the original and resend.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Crap... and all this time I thought patrollers retreated into the fort. I only have a few provinces left and barely enough army to stop barbarian attacks, so I guess I've lost this one.
I have a few items I've gotten from lucky events that I've distributed to folks that can use them before I go AI. |
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Thanks for playing. Eriu does not have any easy path. My experience has been that they are usually one of the first nations attacked (CF1 being another example).
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Eriu's early game is actually reasonably strong, since they have great recruitable thugs. Its the late game in which they really suffer. While TS spam was a reasonable option, by the time you had it I had you vastly outmanned - and evocation was probably a distraction from construction to outfit your thugs. A handful of sidhe lords with vine shields and frostbrands under mistform could have been much scarier than TS.
(With an E8+ bless, or E4 and rainbow armor the sidhe lords are tireless, and thus don't suffer the TS-spam problem of fatiguing out.) |
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Yes, I agree about Eriu's thugs (and to a lesser degree the thunderstrike option), the problem is getting to that point. You need to get some research done and get some gems to equip them and until that's done you are really fairly helpless.

Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Is there something wrong with llama server? It won't take my turn and the turn should have hosted already too.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Yeah, it's having problems again. As long as all turns are submitted it should process them before hosting. That's what it did last time anyway.
BTW, I just noticed I forgot to switch to 36 hour hosting on turn 20, as was indicated in Burnsaber's game description. Will do so once the server is responding again. |
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Damn, awesome turn pace we got going here! :D
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Yeah, 36h host? ha! Try more like 6.

And we went from fast to someone going to stale in 2 days - now that's just silly.

Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Glad to see it wasn't a stale - I was getting worried =)
The Empire of Ermor is a nation of reknowned craftsmen and merchants, can forge a rather wide variety of items, and is willing to trade with interested partners. Payment is accepted in gems or potentially items, and prices are open to negotiations. Please inquire with your local Ermorian embassy about the particular items you are interested in. (eg, send me a PM or find me in the Dom3 IRC channel). Longstanding conditions: -We are always willing to take Death and Astral gems. Other gem types subject to negotiation -Due to local shortages in the death gem market, items requiring death gems will require payment in death gems. This is not negotiable. Temporary conditions: -Ermor currently has a surplus of Air gems, and would gladly trade Air gems for Nature or Earth (or of course Death or Astral). High volume trades welcome. (Many air forgings also possible) |
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
So now arco wishes to join the party with patala, tir, and abysia.
Oh well, Atlantis will do to them what it did to Abysia's massed sacreds. Perhaps this is an unwinnable war, but I will make these invading gangsters bleed before I go. |
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
The honorable monkeys wish to explain the reasoning for the war:
1) Monkey's hate seafood, even seafood that's been forced out of the water. 2) said seafood kept calling the nation of Bandar Log Patala 3) Cripple Fight 2 had a five hour host going, or at least really fast, and now, the seafood nation has caused the hosting to be very slow. for these reasons, the last of the seafood must be purged from the CrippleFight universe |
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
I am going to invade with SO many.. you know, I don't even know what I'm going to attack with, I only declared due to peer pressure.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Wait- the nation of arcosphelae got pressured into a war by a bunch of monkeys? :P
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Elephant riding monkeys with flaming dudes in plate as friends.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Damn, it sounds like I missed one hell of a party. Elephants riding monkeys? Damn. I miss all the good ones...
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Elephants don't ride monkeys, they surf them. Mmmm, monkey-surfing.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
The honorable monkey nation is selling hammers.
inquire through FrozenLama. In other news, the war vs the seafood progresses. despite the massive loss of men by our fiery brethren, the seafood nation is still shrinking, and we hope to see victory in the near future. Soon my crippled friends, there will be no more vile seafood left to pollute our fair waters. |
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Air gem special: Will trade 1:1 air for most gem types. Up to 50 gems total. Inquire via IRC or by PM.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Water pipe burst right over Frozen's computer, so he will probably need a delay until he can figure out a way to get his turns done.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Doh.
Next time, don't put the computer under the water pipe =) |
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Still plenty of time until the next hosting but if it looks like he's going to stale I'll postpone.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Squirrelloid: the water pipe was in the ceiling it seems, and the computer happened to be under the first part it came through.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
That happened to me before, it was a world of suck for everyone involved.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Hosting postponed 24 hours.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
well i figured something out. turn sent
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Looks like the server is acting up again. It doesn't show that it processed the delay request and I haven't gotten a turn confirmation either. Trumanator, if you haven't already sent in your turn, you may want to do so. The server should process everything in order when it's back online but in case it doesn't it would be good to have all the turns in.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
The Great nation of Bandar Log is pleased to see the devastation being wrought in the lands formorly owned by seafood, but even a vile nation such as the seafood do not deserve to go down to the viler by far enemy called STALER. Perhaps the seafood nation needs to ask for delays or a new owner be found.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
I could sub if the need arises.
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
The seafood should be given at least one more turn. if they stale again, i vote you take over
|
Re: Cripple Fight 2: The Lamepire Strikes Back!
Well, the seafood nation would love to continue fighting the good fight, but alas, the head angakok is out of commission at the moment...
I dropped and broke my computer moving out of college, so I am in the process of scrambling to fix it. Until then, is it possible I could get a 24-hour extension? If you guys dont want to slow the game down, maybe burn could sub in a few turns? I really want to finish out the game, even though I probably don't have long for this world. Defensive wars are my favorite kind! Anyways, let me know what you guys think |
