I will set up the game in just a couple of hours when a few more check in and we will get it going as fast as possible.

Count me in.

As this is a newbie game, I think we should keep every option available - we should be able to learn how to horde, how to use Arcane Nexus, etc. So, I vote against the "no hoarding mod"

Diplomacy should be no binding - if you want to show everybody how much you honor your agreements, then feel free to post your alliances on the forum. However, I believe it should be like real life - sometimes you want everybody to know who your allies are... sometimes you don't. :)

I also belive we should play with the default settings - I may be wrong, but I think most games are played with just small variations of the default settings (CB mod being the exception); so, it's better to learn how to play well with the default settings, before play with such a drastic change as the 100 multiplier. Keep it default.

well, someone getting a single clam isn't too amazing. remember const 8 means you get only 1 of them.

but its your guy's game, so go for it lol. ;)

ahhhhhhhh, LOL...

Guess they would only get one:doh:

seems like most want to try and get there hands on everything they can and being a Noob game I think learning about them good and bad is a good thing.

Thanks for the info though...

Re: Newbie Vicious Circle

Two things - 1) money, resource, supply multiple at 100 is the default setting for the game, so I am not sure why you guys are talking as though that is abnormally large. Anything above or below 100 would be abnormal. 2) I don't care one way or another since I'm not playing, but in the next version of CBM QM is likely to make all gem generating items artifacts, which would be the same as the no hoarding mod. You can play with clams if you want, but I thought it might be good to know that at some point they will become non-standard.

I'm gonna put in my 2 cents here and second Lama's suggestion about the hording items. They add nearly nothing of worth to the game and have considerable drawbacks. Contrary to Mule's comment about "learning to horde" there really isn't any complexity, skill, or difficult choices involved in hording, especially for clams.

Additionally, while I don't speak for the vets as a group, I have heard a lot of people mention that they never intend to join another game where the horde items are non-unique, so if this game is meant as a training exercise for new players I think they might be better served learning how the game goes without the horde items, since it's the wave of the future. =)
