As noted above we have a problem but with reflection it is perhaps not as bad as it sounds

There are time lags with all the people to make this work being in different places on the planet so none of what I am writing now is carved in stone and MAY change but I am offering a solution... NOT forgiveness....... it's too late for that

The last consolidator for both games was starting to get too large and we were due to start a new one anyway ( This is why there had been comments about how fast the DL was )

The WW2 patch posted is JUST A v15-v16 PATCH...... so it is NOT a consolidator and if you have been updating all along nothing changes for you.

What I hope will happen is the previous consolidator will be reposted and this latest patch will be the potential start of a new series but that idea has not been cleared with Shrapnel yet but it is a plan that causes everyone the least amount of grief..... players, Shrapnel and me

OK we are almost totally back to normal. Both game's 2022 consolidator upgrade patches are back on each of Shrapnel's DL page so anyone who has skipped a year or two updating now can do that before installing the 2023 patch.

THE MOST IMPORTANT PART IS ANYONE WHO HAS ALREADY DOWNLOADED THE 2023 PATCH DOES NOT HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN

Thank you. I keep my copy of the patch sets for WinSP games, in case I wanted to do a reinstallation, so the size difference was easy to spot for me.

And I do thank you for pointing it out when you did as it saved the problem from getting worse. I should have realized I missed a couple of steps. The procedure has been:

1. Build this year's single patch
2. Copy last year's consolidation patch files to this years game patch folder
3. Extract the new patch into the the new copy of last year consolidator files
4. Build the new Consolidator installer from the combined files.

I missed step 2 and 3 for both and I SHOULD HAVE noticed that when I built them. There is no excuse but more importantly I should have noticed they uploaded far quicker than they should have and the issues reported with people having problems getting the DL to start that we had initially were fixed and people were reporting how quickly it was downloading I just thought it was the fix Shrapnel made not that the "consolidator" was 15X smaller than it should have been and your post turned all the lights on finally

So thank you for mentioning it when you spotted it. The day was far more "interesting" and stressful than I wanted it to be but it was my fault it happened and everything is now resolved.


However... you reported you had "WinSPWW2 Ver9-Ver14 Consolidation_Upgrade(2021)"
Which means you missed the 2022 update so you need to go back and DL and install the 2022 consolidator AND THEN RE-INSTALL THE 2023 PATCH

Right now you are missing one whole year of updates

Chrome hates me the last few days, just tried the new link, get the 8 seconds page and nothing, right click link, nothing.

Just used my fall back (the one link: http://download.shrapnelgames.com/do...winSP/?C=M;O=D) to get the file I needed.

That is odd and it was happening to a lot of people yesterday so we thought it was the link Shrapnel was using and after they told me they had made changes is when people started reporting how quick it was ( which was a sign I thought was good but turned out not so much )

I have been using chrome for testing DL a number of times and twice this morning and it starts up every time..... it may be your anti virus

Thank you all, I got the message.
Part of my daily job is spotting inconsistencies like that, so I am vigilant when I see unexpected changes.

One more thing:
https to http redirection is something frown upon by web browsers, for security reasons.
That can be blocked be default, as it was in my case.

What you wrote makes sense and I tried both this year's ww2 patch and the 2022 consolidator and you are correct, these years is https and the 2022 consolidator is HTTP and for me this year's patch DL started right up but I had to paste the link for the ww2 2022 consolidator into a new window to get it to start

I tried the same experiment with MBT and got the same results and the MBT 2022 consolidator is also http

Try the 2022 patch now. Changes have been made. It's an https and it starts up right away for me now using Chrome

Thank you. Downloading works fine now, with https.
I could do it with http previously, it was just a bad page design.
