Rejoice! For our brave Count has finally dispatched the Ugly Antler Horned Cloven Hoofed Wild Man Who Runs With Wolves that have been plaguing our forests!

Heh, I find that quite funny.

And Sombre - If you look at DrPs research I think you can see what he gave up to defeat a couple of mages and independant tritons/ichtyid supported by a small amount of delvers.

To do this he used 45 commanders and 353 units, including over 150 gems worth of summons.
He may be catching up in provinces, but it wont last.

Kamikaze

That mass-teleport attack I launched did alot better than I expected. Particularly since I only managed to spend 10-15 minutes on that turn while having a migraine and throwing up painkillers.

And just incase you think thats all I have, DrP, keep in mind that I, should I want to, could launch an attack of that size(including forging/summoning/recruiting and calling) every 2-3 turns.

DrPraetorious November 14th, 2007 07:14 PM

Re: Kamikaze

Yeah, you killed a bunch of stuff. Congrats.

I'm very much of the school of thought that everything I own is toilet paper and you are free to wipe yourself with it if you wish, so go nuts.

I see no reason to stop reclaiming my territory, and unless you offer a superior diplomatic solution, I see no reason not to ally with the third player against you http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

So go ahead, toss around some more stuff.

We now have some live graphs for this MP game:

Nice graphs!

Sombre November 18th, 2007 01:18 AM

Re: Live Graphs

Now you can see the result of my 3 minute speed turns, random orders and rampant staling. Yay! :]

I really don't want to be in this game at the moment and my heart isn't in it at all (as lolomo has probably realised). Having subbed out as KD originally for good reasons, I have no idea why I agreed to sub back in for Coobe. So I apologise for playing a really crappy game. I'd like to go AI but obviously that would be a problem. So I'll just continue playing badly/staling/turtling.

This is a global heads up that all NAPs with this nation should be considered void because I'm playing like an ***. So all 3 of you have the chance to invade. I will put up some sort of defence, of course.

lch November 18th, 2007 07:08 AM

You can turn them AI if you're fighting everybody now anyway, no problem. No need to prolong that thing needlessly.

Sombre November 18th, 2007 11:48 AM

Re: Sylvania

Ok then I'm going AI, sorry about this.

At least they are definitively the weakest nation and don't have a very big impact on the game.

DrPraetorious November 23rd, 2007 10:45 PM

Re: Sylvania

Well, in that case, I'm going AI as well.

I'm fairly big and powerful but I don't give myself any chance of actually winning - so if I stay in I'm just in as a spoiler, and I'm overcommitted to boot.

Good luck, and thanks for the geat game.

lch November 23rd, 2007 10:51 PM

Haida Gwaii

I guess it's your lack of research that leads to that decision? I'd suggest to try and find a sub first before setting your nation to AI. Because there are always LOTS of people looking for games and apart from the "probably not winning" thing somebody can still do some good with the nation, I think. You could even decide the outcome of the game, depending on who you ally up with.

DrPraetorious November 24th, 2007 12:31 AM

Re: Haida Gwaii

Well, that's the issue - I'm not interested in playing just to be a spoiler and deciding the winner. The AI will probably keep attacking Kharam Dzu on its own.

And there's a shortage of subs, actually.

But it's too late, I already set myself to AI. If there had been more than 10 hrs left until host I would've started looking for a sub.

Shovah32 November 28th, 2007 01:31 AM

Re: Haida Gwaii

For anyone following this game, a turn ago Lolomo and I both attacked a province owned by our mutual(ai) enemy.

I then staled, and this turn recieved a message from Lolomo claiming that the battle that took place in that province meant I broke our NAP. Underneath that message were 2 reports of sanguinia attacking my nation - the defenders won both battles.

LoloMo November 28th, 2007 03:04 AM

Re: Haida Gwaii

That is incorrect. I had attacked Sylvania's fort the turn before you attacked. So last turn I had the fort under siege already when you attacked me. The same turn that you attacked me, I captured the fortress.

Since this occured right after Haida Gwai turned AI, leaving only you and me in this game, I assumed that this was intentional.

Since there are only the two of us playing, I would certainly agree to a rollback so that you do not stale, and so that you can see your turn and we can be clear on what happened.

If the attack was a mistake, then I can certainly agree to letting our NAP remain in place until you are ready for war.

Of course, if you think my two defeated probing attacks is of any advantage to you, we can also continue as is.

Shovah32 November 28th, 2007 04:33 AM

Re: Haida Gwaii

Aww hell, I just sent you a PM telling you what, as far as I know, happened.
I apologise if I did attack you and violate our NAP - it was certainly not my intention to do so, I'm almost certain it was a Sylvania province I attacked but perhaps I am mistaken(the turn was taken quickly).
But there are only 2 of us left and I have little free time these days. If you wish we can continue this war now, or we can put the NAP back in place - I don't mind either way.

LoloMo November 28th, 2007 08:02 AM

Re: Haida Gwaii

Ok, let's have the NAP back in place then, I have a score to settle with Sylvania first, even though they've turned AI, I want to get back at them for raiding me for 10 turns =)

I almost lost a rather expensive artifact ^^.

Also, whenever I try to watch The World Tree(Sylvanias pretender) do its attack action, it crashes my game(I also can't see any weapon other than a dagger on my explosive-throwing guys).

I think LoloMo stumbled over this before, too, seems to be an error in the Sylvania mod / missing sprite. Try removing the spr2 command from it or set it to the same graphic as spr1 in the mod, that should do the trick for you.

LoloMo December 8th, 2007 09:50 PM

Re: Haida Gwaii

On the problem with not seeing the weapons on the explosive throwing guys, I think it was fixed a while back. Did you download the latest mods over europe version?

Re: Haida Gwaii

I think I have that already. I have a feeling that me having the launchers for 3.10 and 3.08 in different places - my 3.08(for this game) doesn't have the option to launch any new mods I put into my mod folder.

Ideas?

LoloMo December 10th, 2007 06:49 AM

Re: Haida Gwaii

I renamed my 3.08 launcher as dom308 and put it in the same folder as the 3.10 dom3.exe.

Re: Haida Gwaii

LoloMo, would you object to the timer being increased to 72 hours?
I would, of course, try and get my turns in as early as possible but with my longer turns and a few health problems, I'm having a little bit of trouble with always getting my turn in.

LoloMo December 10th, 2007 09:37 PM

Re: Haida Gwaii

No objection at all Shovah, I'm fine with 72 hours.

Any chance of a Christmas pause? My Dad(for some unknown reason) thought that it would be a good idea to unplug the family computer(with dominions on it) and I don't think it will be back up until after Christmas.

LoloMo December 24th, 2007 12:25 AM

Re: Haida Gwaii

I'm ok with that. The timer currently says 84 hours though, so that's more than 3 days away.

Edit: Whoops, I got confused, it says turn 84, not 84 hours, haha, anyways, looks like the game has been put on hold and the timer's off

lch December 25th, 2007 04:03 PM

Game timer

I turned off the timer in all my games on Sunday.

Have a good christmas!

Thanks for waiting. I can't do my turn just yet(New Years ect) but it will definitely be done before this time tomorrow.

Yup, I'll activate the timer tomorrow, so I guess you'll have ample time to take your new turn then.

Shovah32 January 2nd, 2008 02:21 PM

Re: Game timers

Ok I can't do it. Looks like my multiplayer dominions is going to be out of order for a while. Zeldor showed some interest in taking over, could somebody possibly PM him links to the map/mod and see if he is still interested?

Zeldor January 2nd, 2008 02:23 PM

Re: Game timers

With that slow hosting I can take a look, unless there is someone better http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Game timers

Heya Zeldor! The mod is on page 9, there is a post by Ich with an attachment on it.

You have to use Dom version 3.08, I renamed the executable as dom308, then put it in the same folder as the updated dom3.

Here is the link I use to log on to the game:

"C:\Program Files\dominions3\dom308.exe" -fawcd --tcpclient --ipadr valhalla.techno-mage.com --port 4573

lch January 3rd, 2008 04:32 PM

Re: Game timers

Sorry, this somehow slipped past my radar. I'll send you the password right away.

Zeldor January 3rd, 2008 04:36 PM

Re: Game timers

I still don't know if I will sub, Shovah is still here playing for some time.

And how do you use older dom version?

LoloMo January 3rd, 2008 09:35 PM

Re: Game timers

You can reinstall dom to a different folder, patch it to version 3.08 only, then rename and copy its executable file.

Zeldor January 3rd, 2008 09:59 PM

Re: Game timers

Hmm... cannot someone just simply send me the 3.08 exe file?

LoloMo January 4th, 2008 04:24 AM

Re: Game timers

Page 16 of this thread, at the bottom, is a post by Ich with a link to the dom308 exe file.

Re: Game timers

Yup, I agree, it looks like LoloMo has won this game. Congratulations! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

I'll leave the game open with timers off for some time, I'll scrap it later when I clean up the games on the server.

Zeldor January 12th, 2008 09:38 PM

Shovah said he is still playing... and that he does not need sub for few weeks...

We used the .exe files from the 3.08 version to play. Just drop it in the game folder where the other files are and try with that one again. It's explained a couple of pages back.

I do still have all those turn backups if you plan to write that AAR. So when you figure it out, give me a call.

Alternatively you might just want to wait for the next patch where all those things should be fixed, they say... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
