Re: Timer Reset

It seems I am having trouble with the llamaserver, or my email host. My turns aren't getting through. I'm not quite sure what the problem is exactly, but now I'm staling in two games. If I won't be able to resolve this somehow, I'm going to have to ask for a sub.

Re: Timer Reset

Alright, I have managed to go around this problem once, and should it come up again, I should be able to go around it again as well.

Sorry about how this turned into delays for everyone.

I donīt seem to get any answer. I have a vague memory about Llamabeast posting somewhere that he was going away for some time. It could be that he isnīt around.

My suggestion is that if he hasnīt answered later tonight we just move on. It shouldnīt matter all that much if everyone gets a stale turn.

Cast your vote.

Lbeast is in Thailand... I guess I'd opt for continuing from the stale. I could see others voting ther other way.

Lbeast is out for a couple of weeks at least. If we wait, I think the game will wilt... I suggest we go forward, though it is less than ideal. I won't be able to send a turn until close to the deadline Wednsday in any case.

Hallo, I'm back. Unlucky about the stale turn. I could indeed roll back if I was here, but there's no way Ylvali could do it. It looks like he simply brought the timer forward twice in quick succession, and obviously didn't realise that doing it the first time had caused the game to host - a very easy mistake to make. Sorry I wasn't around to help.

Besides, I think everyone has suffered some accidents and mistakes all around. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Best we take it all in stride.

You guess right, that was exactly how it happened. "he" is in this case a "she" BTW.

No need, how could you know?

THE DAILY PYTHIAN

Neros head hurts, theurgh saves pythium!
Yesterday afternoon there was a great stress amongst the theurghs in the high council. Nero, our beloved god, suffered from a most disastrous headache. The theurghs fled the palace as Nero threw curses at everyone in his vincity. To avoid the destruction of our capitol one brave theurgh, Flavius Albertus, summoned the old crone of the nearby village to mix a potion to ease neros pain. He then dared to approach the now burning palace and urge Nero to drink the potion. Nero in his maddened state of divine pain mistook Flavius for his late lover and kissed him so violently that his neck broke. Luckily Nero then found and drank the potion and recovered. A statue of Flavius will be raised in the macadamia square in remembrance of his valiant sacrifice.

The war goes too slow
The grand crusade on ermor is proceeding outrageously slow. If Nero is serious about reuniting the empire should he not join the crusade himself? Is it fair to cover up in the desert while our brave brothers of Ulm give their lives to stall the undead hordes? Many young men are waiting to be sent to the front and prove their courage! Time is now to act and stand valiant and fast againts the vile unhappy one!
Terminus Maximus, Arch theurgh of the flame order.

Heinrich April 30th, 2008 06:23 PM

Last words of brother Fratreborn

May the world know the last words of brother Fratreborn, Black Priest of Ulm, who gave his life to save mankind from the undead hordes of Ermor.

"-Summer in the year 6 of the ascension wars

My Lord, here is the last testimony of your devoted servant.

Two months have passed since we sailled through the Sea of Blood to the land of the dead. During this time we did not really faced our ennemy but his cursed presence haunts every step in this bloody desert.

Stuck in their Black Steel full plates, our brave soldiers suffer from heat and starvation all day. But our nights are even worse. Besides enduring cold and lack of sleep, we constantly fear the horrors hidden in the dark. Finally, as a new dawn has come, we still found some men unconscious, drooling as if their mind has been blasted by some evil presence.

Now I feel the weight of the years over my poor person.
I don't want men to loose faith but sooner or later those sands will be our graves with only our hammers for gravestones.

But I am sure we won't die in vain.

- Brother Fratreborn, member of the Order of Steel, Black Priest of Ulm."

We will remember you, brother.

Need an extension on next turns\'s deadline

Ylvali, I am going away for the weekend and would like to request an extension on the due date of the next turn until late Sunday evening if possible. I do not think it's worthwhile to get a sub for just 1 turn so if I can't get an extension I will just have a stale turn.

I will be sending in the current turn this evening.

Thanks.

Just to let everyone know I set Arcoscephale to AI last turn in accordance with my treaties with certain foreign powers.

Good Luck everyone, especially those who are hanging in there with hopeless positions http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif I wish I could have stayed too the last dozen turns have been a blast. But now I can concentrate on other hopefully more successful games.

Hopefully I will see a few of you in the upcoming Megagame. But as I have Jomon I suspect I won't last long in that one http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

I would prefer not to. The turns are already dragging a fair bit and longer waits would make it worse. I was going to suggest that one weekend we try and do two turns, if everyone was around.

However, I think I am already out voted!

Ylvali May 18th, 2008 03:30 PM

Re: Timer Reset

My feeling is that Iīm starting to feel stressed about getting my turns in. At least for me there is huge micromanagement and I feel I canīt relax enough to have fun and make creative strategies and so on. Iīd also like to roleplay more and that takes some time as well. (We could still try to submit our turns as soon as possible, but it would take away the pressure.)

Iīm still having great fun though! This game has been a real eye opener for me so far. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif And I really appreciate the atmosphere, no metagaming or bad vibes at all! (Something I canīt always say about the other games I joined)

Iīll wait for a few more comments before changing the timer.

Saxon May 19th, 2008 09:20 AM

Re: Timer Reset

Your strategies are quite creative enough as it is! How many of my Tarts have you killed now? I guess it is my way of paying tuition...

I think we have five for the idea, which is the bulk of us. I do not want to stand in the way of the majority and can live with it.

In my case, I have had to promise my wife this is my last game, as it was taking up too much time. I am not sure making the game last longer will make up for me being less rushed to get the turns in. It is like taking off a band aid. Do you do it fast or slow?

Ylvali May 19th, 2008 02:56 PM

Re: Timer Reset

How many did I kill? Dunno, 10-15 or so... Iīd say my best move so far was sending in Sedestus, adept of the iron order, who has so far killed two tartarians by himself. A statue of him is now being raised in the Pythian Hall of heroes.

Still it seems your supply of tartarians is endless.

Anyway, Iīm changing the timer. I seem to have the majority with me and I disagree about being creative enough http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Saxon May 27th, 2008 03:04 AM

Re: Timer Reset

Ahhh!!! I spent a ton of time on that turn, getting everything perfect. Finally, some free time to just me. Then I bugger up sending it and stale…

Ylvali, all ok? Two stales is not like you.

Ylvali May 27th, 2008 03:28 AM

Re: Timer Reset

Been busy.

Heh, this last one was a bit like you, had the turn almost prepared. I guess that since you staled Iīll just give tha same orders again. Lucky for me.

Seems the tide has turned against me lately...time to drive those undead scum out of my lands!

Saxon May 28th, 2008 02:07 AM

Re: Timer Reset

Undead scum? Please go and check the pulse on your prophet again, I seem to remember something abut unlife in your ads about the new prophet. Looks like the ideals of Ermor are going to win, no matter what name you put on it!

Glad you are back.

Re: Timer Reset

Howdy,

Can we aim to keep to the 72 hours as much as possible? I know I was outvoted in going to this time, but it is starting to drag and the extra delays are making it worse. Many thanks.

Ylvali June 2nd, 2008 08:06 PM

Re: Timer Reset

Saxon June 4th, 2008 06:25 AM

Re: Timer Reset

That is cool, thanks.

Looking at the graphs, it seems that things are happening all over the place. I hope everyone is having as much fun as I am. Hopefully, you are also losing your Tarts as fast as I am as well…

Darkstone June 14th, 2008 05:37 PM

Re: Timer Reset

Anyone know what happened to Ylvali? If she stales again, maybe we should seek a sub?

Also, I suppose it's become clear to everyone that this has become an alliance game (South & Northwest & Northeast). This is an interesting development, and I wonder if this happens often in other games, or is heavily based on us being in a newbie game?

Heinrich June 15th, 2008 11:25 AM

Re: Timer Reset

Yvali missed another turn. I am going to message her, but if others could as well, particularly allies, it would be great.

I hope she can restart. If not, a replacment would be the next best thing. AI could work, but would not uphold the treaties.
