Re: PBW status

I can go to the forum for a particular game directly from that game's description page without problem. It is trying to get to the general forums from the Community Page that is the problem. I do not have an non-standard security options enabled for Firefox.

I use Firefox also and PBW site works perfectly in every way for me. Have you tried reinstalling it, Fyron?

Are autoruns going to be turned on soon? I am leaving for a few days and I was hoping that the games I host would still run on time in my absence...

thanks,

Did everything go well? I'm getting.

I got some of those Internal Server Errors about 15 mins ago, but it seems to be working again now.

Re: PBW status

The server has been up, but I've been running defrag all day and it's probably sapping the resources or something. Should be done in not too much longer.

No problems here. Probably just Geo still making some live maintenance. Give him a minute or two...

Hey there, I'm having some tiny hiccups with the PBW server, no biggie, I sent my turns via email. When I try to send or recieve turns, I get a javascript dialog. It's probably just 'cause my isp is slow these days, thats been happening a lot lately. I felt like mentioning it because I hoped it had nothing to do with this {SANS report}

I also had a wierd incident with PBW. I declared a couple of empires dead in the SE Galaxies Aldan game and that went fine and it showed them as dead, yet today when I checked they were not dead and the related log entries vanished...

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Yeah, that's a code bug. We had it fixed, but when I restored the old code the other day it wiped it out. Until I get it fixed again the workaround is to mark them dead then go to the game admin screen and hit update options. You don't need to change options, just hit the update button.

Sunday July 4th, 10:27 PM Est. Have to take the server down for a bit for some maintenance. Shouldn't be too long. I will update you here if anyone is up. Sunday's typically a pretty slow night.

Re: PBW status

Ok, I am going out of town for a week and a half. While I am gone the PBW server will remain operational, hopefully. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Georgig and Tesco have access to the server remotely and can do a lot to recover if there is a problem that's not to serious. However, there is the posibility of an ISP or power problem or some kind of hardware issue that they will not be able to do anything about. If something like that happens unfortunatly it's going to have to wait till I return on the 14th.

I have turned off the PBW auto-processing in case there is a problem. Turns will run if all are uploaded, and the game owner or a PBW admin can force the turn to run as well. But turns will not run simply because the time limit has been reached.

If you need to reach them send an email to admin@pbw.cc. I will NOT be checking email while I'm gone.

Good luck. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Re: PBW status

No problem on the server. Are you using Explorer or something else. Perhaps it's some sort of browser problem. Maybe you have your sercurity set to block the javascript stuff? I'm just guessing here. Did you try the text UI or graphic or both?

I clicked the accept for you so Tnarg is in the game now. If it happens again we can try testing a bit more and narrow down what's causing it for you specifically.

Re: PBW status

Problems like this generally arise from not using Internet Exploder, which PBW was designed for. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif Even when disabling all security settings, I have never been able to get the Accept/Kick/Finish buttons to work in Mozilla Firefox. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif Probably shouldn't discuss this further in this thread, so as not to clutter it up. Just posting confirmation that this is an on-going issue...

In what may be an unrelated note, I am now unable to access PbW from any computer on my network. Additionally, the NCG5 game should have cranked, to my understanding, some thrity minutes ago, and I have not received an e-mail announcing the new turn.

I'm guessing PbW is down. Can anyone confirm/denounce this?
