Parganos (wraparound)
 
Had some free time today and made a wraparound version of Parganos! I only tested it once, if you should find any mistakes let me know.

Parganos (wraparound) - 116 land & 19 sea

After playing the map one more time I found one faulty neighbour connection and now also adjusted the possible starting points (as there are no more corner or edge provinces now). So here is the updated version:

Excellent! Parganos as a map suffered unduly from unreachable corners and bunching of start positions, so this is a very welcome addition!

Please post it also on the Desura Dom3 forums! Though there is no option to upload files there, unfortunately.

Yes I wanted to upload it on desura originally but they dont have an attachement function. So if anybody could host the file and link it on desura, feel free to do so~

I've uploaded the map and posted a link on Desura. You should consider getting Skydrive or Google Drive or Dropbox and then making public folders for stuff you want to upload.

Will do. I also made a "Glory of Gods"-Scenario where I added a few landmasses and special monsters which I should share with the community. And I am working on a pretty epic map in a completely different style which should be done in one two weeks time~

I was planning to use your map with fixed start, but settings are hidden and you don't say how many fixed start there is. (Water start?)

Also, is the first version you have uploaded on llamaserver (without fixed spawn) is free of neighbor connection issues?

I don't think the wraparound version is on llamaserver. There are no fixed starting points in the version I made, water start should be ok, and up to now all the neighbour connections seem to be fine as well.

The one thing that this needs is that there should be no land starts with less than 3 land neighbors. There are a couple of land starts with just 2 land neighbors and anybody starting from there gets a huge disadvantage, especially if the indies next to him are tough (or a special province like The Primal Forest lands there).

Otherwise the map is excellently balanced. :)

Galahad, I have taken a closer look at the map file with a friend of mine and have made some significant modifications to the package.

The problems:
- Too many provinces with mixed terrain (farm + mountain + forest + whatever)
- Too few provinces with fresh water
- Several provinces with only 3 neighbors or less that could be started from

Those have been fixed now. You can download the fixed version from here.

The fixed map is more accessible and does not require quite as many survival skills just for basic movement as the original. It will also be a more balanced map to play for that reason.

There was a bit of a whoopsy in the map file, I edited it in the Dom4 beta editor and had forgotten to change the #domversion command, so it said #domversion 350. That's been fixed in the archive now too so the download works for 3.27 and above.
