Scenario Designers (Open Scenario Slots)
This thread is for the current scenario (and also campaign) designers.
Currently we have scenario slots 0-774 filled. Currently I am working on a series of scenarios covering the years 1908-1929 and I'd like to keep them together. I have 6 completed and they are ready for play-testing (I generally send them out in batches of 10 scenarios to my tester). I also have about 6-9 that are WW2 specific and in various states of design, I'll sign up for scenario slots later after I complete this series I am working on. Scenarios So currently I have 'signed' up for slots 775-800. I recommend that we coordinate our efforts. Campaigns Currently we have slots 0-27 filled. I am 'signing' up for (working on) slots 28-30. I hope that Ts4ever can fix his NZ CG and I found a 'missing and lost' CG for WW2, that I may salvage. I am hoping we can use this thread to 'coordinate' our efforts and not cause any overwrites or hair splitting with scenario slots. Hope this all makes sense and welcome your thoughts on this. Don |
Re: Scenario Designers (Open Scenario Slots)
Just asking, what if we run out of slots? Can designers expand those easily?
|
Re: Scenario Designers (Open Scenario Slots)
Ok, can I have slots 800 - 850 then?
|
Re: Scenario Designers (Open Scenario Slots)
Sure if you can fill them. I have 200+ in planning and can crank out 100 over the year.
|
Re: Scenario Designers (Open Scenario Slots)
So lets set them in blocks of 25?
I'll take 775-799, SaS Troop can have 800-824, and Ts4Ever can have 825-850/ Does that sound reasonable? I know for sure I can produce at least 100 over the next year. I have 7 completed, 5 in various states. |
Re: Scenario Designers (Open Scenario Slots)
I already took 810 :P

Re: Scenario Designers (Open Scenario Slots)
Would it be helpful if I coordinated the scenarios on my machine?
I have 8 installs (4 of each game, clean, editor, play-test and isolation). That way if there are gaps or things need to get moved around I can do that with ScenHack. Just let me know. |

So perhaps use slots say 900-998 as "swappable" scenario sets?. |
Re: Scenario Designers (Open Scenario Slots)
Everyone is getting WAY ahead of yourselves on this running out of slots panic and there are other options than overwriting which **IF** we get enough of a break from this that we might be able to explore

I store my scenario collection with each scenario in it's own folder inside of a main folder. I have 998 slots open. I use Locate if I need to search something or my back up copy of SPWW2 if I need something else if Locate doesn't find it. Like my .pdf collection of ASL scenarios. |
Re: Scenario Designers (Open Scenario Slots)
If your not short on hard drive space just copy and paste the game, rename and send an icon to desktop.
You can clear the scenario folder giving you another 999 spaces. Alternatively just copy the scenario folder to the same place as the original and rename it say Scenario 2 To swap the folder just rename scenerio by adding a 1 and take the 2 off the second folder so you now have Scenario 1 and Scenario. |
Re: Scenario Designers (Open Scenario Slots)
So I am confused now as to where we are at in open scenario slots.
I have Scenarios done and ready for slots: 775-800 But I also have 4 more to this series that would push it up to slot 804. But I think that SaS and Troopie and Ts4ever are also using some 800 slots? I tried to coordinate this but it seems to have got out of whack a bit. These scenarios I got are all part of a series (technically 775-804). So if I use slots 800-804 will that cause any conflicts? I'd rather move the four or five scenarios that are in slots 800-804 to someplace else at the end so that the series I got is a nice continuation. And to continue on with my developing of scenarios I am going on the assumption that this is okay for me to use up to slots 804. I also found two more scenarios in my research department (1928 and 1929) that I could use to fill up slots 805 and 806. I'd also like to use these as well. That way this series which runs from 1908 to 1929 will be complete. Thoughts, suggests from the other scenario designers or DRG? Thanks in advance, Don |
Re: Scenario Designers (Open Scenario Slots)
Right now in my master game ( and that's the one the counts )
Slots 775-807 are open and 827 - 998 are open TS4EVER scenarios fill 808-825 inclusive and SASTroop's latest one is now in slot 826 |
Re: Scenario Designers (Open Scenario Slots)
Thanks Don, I'll take 775-807 please (already have 775-800 filled out, doing final play testing on 795-800 then to Tom).

Re: Scenario Designers (Open Scenario Slots)
Thinking about making a scenario or two over the holidays, are there any slots left open?
|
Re: Scenario Designers (Open Scenario Slots)
Yes. right now 827+ is open but I still don't know what will fit where when I release the next update as I have not entered any newer ones issued in the last few months but right now I have a gap from 775-807 and I *think* they are reserved. Then I have scenarios in 809-826 so if you want to be safe use a slot after 826 but when the patch is ready I will be moving them so there are no gaps but right now I am going assume the gap will be filled

Re: Scenario Designers (Open Scenario Slots)
Alright, so after 826. Or maybe a campaign again, which would completely avoid this problem. :D So far I am lacking a good idea though, will read a bit.

Re: Scenario Designers (Open Scenario Slots)
