Word of WinSPMBT coming here?
 

Talk over at Warfare HQ, is there is some interest of it being hosted here.

That, and possibly some talk of the file (the soon to be download) being hosted here.

I haven't seen much comment of this yet, and I don't normally have contact with their Yahoo discussions group (ok never been there at all actually).

Just curious if any of the Shrapnel community has anything to comment on it. Or is this a hush hush situation till they are ready http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

The in process of being finshed, rebuild of the DOS version SPMBT which is itself a rebuild of the older program Steel Panthers 2 (ie SP) Modern Battles into Steel Panthers Modern Battle Tank (ie SPMBT) a currently 100% free download from SP Camo.

This release might easily lay claim and maintain that claim, as being the best and likely most fun modern tactical squad level simulation out there.

Don't late the date fool ya (it's been around a while), no one has yet made a better squad tactical wargame since Steel Panthers. And that includes Combat Mission people.

Hi all,

I finally registered myself here;) after seeing this topic. I'm VERY interested about that announcement too;)... Let's hope that Camo group will add game here for d/l tomorrow!

Going on the basis, it will have to go somewhere, when it is actually here, where will the download link be found, just so that we happy campers won't be asking you folks a bajillion times "where is the SPMBT dowenload file link"?

And yes, I know it is not going to be there five seconds after I ask, but where is it "planned" to be?

I'm not involved in that process and can't say with certainty (only the webmaster knows for sure http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/shock.gif). But please don't worry, it won't be hidden or buried. That's not our style.

Even when I get the new Winspmbt, I'll have to ween myself off of it just in respect to the game, so all the good work will be remembered

Got it running. DL took about 10 minutes on DSL at 130+kb
