Ghost Riders: Newbie Game PBEM Game on!
 

Greetings everyone,

this is my very first post on the forums. I'm a novice player, played the demo for a while and just got the game a couple of weeks ago. I was looking for a nice MP game to get to know the game better but couldn't find anything suitable, so I'm starting one myself! So obviously, I'm looking for fellow newbies to slug it out and try devious strategies on each other. :angel

MAP: Cradle of the Gods Multiplayer (227 provinces)
AGE: Early
Players: 8-10 n00bs
Game Settings: Default
Turns: Every 24h for the first 20 turns, 48h afterwards.
Mods: CBM 1.41, I got to know the game that way, unless everone opposes.
Scoregraphs: Yes

Hosting: mighty_scoop, a fellow Dominions player, will do the hosting somehow by magic as I have no clue how to do that. He will be joining as well, playing Kailasa. Although he already has some games under the belt I'm sure he will be a pushover for us noobs anyway! :D

That's it, hope I didn't forget anything. BTW, I'd like to command the Chinesoid Armies of T'ien Ch'i; see you on the battlefield!

Just so you know the games hosted on Llamaserver (for free and very efficiently) are PBEM. It has some clever linux magic going on that enables it to process turns automagically etc... but it is actually PBEM.

Generally? Half a dozen flying Carrion Lord thugs taking my territory, and I haven't been able to put my Helkarls in the right provinces to DusttoDust them. I've got some high pop sea provinces which are keeping my gold supply on life support, but I've had to cannibalize my research and late-game viability to keep going.

Well I really meant the situation beyond your duel. From what I can tell Yomi and Sauro are vying for supremacy, with Mictlan just hanging around doing his own thing.

Oh, that? I'm not really sure. I got Sauromatia helping me with Pangaea now, and from what I can tell, Mictlan is just building up.

so the game is on its way. Great, I was really looking forward to the first multiplayer game! @P3D: if you don't mind, I think all settings should be kept to default, just to ease people into their first game... Or am I actually the only MP virgin here?

Its your game and whatever settings you want is what we will play.

I do reccomend CBM and the fact that hard reasearch on Early Era (and big Map) will allow everyone to concetrate more on the strategic part and not be dismantled by magic especially if they are very new to MP.

Denisius has been so kind as to remind me of the customs in the vast realm of Dominions. I've sent most of you a message but I`ve probably forgot some of you. Please don't be offended, I rarely post and I'm an organisatorial mess. Good to know, eh? :o
So, welcome all of you, and whoever still has to send in a pretender, please do so (yeees, I know I haven't).
One more thing about in-game communication: I'm a huge rpg fan, so I 'd love it if players stayed "in character". If anyone feels stupid that's alright too, but I will try to do so. After all, being a humble minister of foreign relations, I'm just doing my emperor's bidding...

I am going to use a completely new (and weird) Pretender design as I felt my other one was just a little too much for a noob game. So NOOOOOOOOO Laughing!!!!!!!!!!!:eek:

Arco Here....

I got the first turn and put it in the saved games folder and it isn't listed in my game file.

My Pretender was accepted but the game isn't there.

Any suggestions?:confused:

Hi,

create a folder in your saved games folder called GhostRiders and put the .trn file in there. Load Dom and try again!
