Question: capturing shaken units, anyone?

I've got a rules question and possibly a suggestion.

1. If a player enters a hex which contains both shaken and unshaken enemy units, can he choose to melee against the shaken ones to eliminate them? Or must he fight unshaken units until there are none such left, then eliminate the shaken enemy? This seemed unclear in the demo rules.

2. It seems like too much of a sure thing for war to be able to enter a hex with a shaken enemy unit and be _certain_ of eliminating it. Might it be playable to allow shaken units, which are being engaged in melee by the enemy, a Last ditch chance to self rally (perhaps at bad odds)?

Usually they would still fail this roll, and be captured or summarily executed, but occasionally, in the face of imminent destruction, the panicky squaddies would pull themselves together and fight back.

Hi Everett,

The rules state that if a unit enters a hex with only shaken units, those units are eliminated. He may not choose to melee against the Shaken units (since they don't melee). I do like your idea about Shaken units, but I need to guard against feature creep or LnL will become another ASL. I don't think I'll write that into the game, but if you want to use it, go ahead! ;-)

Best,
Mark
