Request - Belgium vs Italy battle location

Setting up a Belgium vs Italy battle gives a "Northern Europe" (0) default batloc.

The game guide says Belgian colonial forces fought the Italians in Ethiopia and Sudan until almost the end of 1941. Could you please change the default batloc for that period to one in Africa in the next patch?

We can look into it but you do know setting up the map the way you want it to be is simple to do.......

153 is the east African map That info is in the HELP file for the in-game editor then use the map generator to change the "season" to desert.

20+ years and you may be the first to want to fight the Belgians and Italians in East Africa:)

He is the 2nd.:)

I can't find this one in the last patch through.

[quote=SaS TrooP;844397]Hello there!
New one coming, this time medium sized, battalion scale scenario. It covers assault on Gambella, part of Siege of Saio in Ethiopia, that was only major engagement conducted by Force Publique - or Belgian Colonial Army - during World War 2.

Since Force Publique is well covered in the Belgian OOB, I decided to give it a go and some purpose on the scenario list.

I hope you will like it. Mind that it is partly tested. I played it through, prepared for release aaaand... I found out I accidentally overwrote the scenario with and EMPTY one. And I had to redone all buying and deployment as carefully as I could, but "redone" version is untested.

A scenario is one thing, setting up the battle generator to give specific battles for two opponents is another and that was what I was referring to

I have played Belgium vs Italy, but when I got "Northern Europe", I changed it to "East Africa" in set-up. I like to play "minor"-nation sometimes.

Italy v Japan worked fine when I dialled them in after seeing this one from Mark Felton:

Yes, Italy fought a couple of skirmishes against the Japanese, never knew they had troops in the far east at all.

Mark Felton's Youtube page is a wonderful resource for little-known WW2 stories, as well as the known stuff.

cheers
Andy

Thanks! I had known about changing the batloc, but not about the season.

Looks like there are a few of us here that like obscure theatres :)

As you mentioned Italy would recommend Batloc 215 if you like hilly terrain I think it would be a good starting point for the map generator.
Just spun it up a dozen times as trying to get a delay in a campaign.
Normal results in November are very good if you want cluttered terrain.
Results also vary wildly hence a little tweaking could produce some great stuff, I would leave the hill settings alone.
Streams & a railway sometimes appear as does quite heavy urbanization. Things like rough, fields & orchards can also be quite heavy.

Its worth watching the Batlocs & noting the number down if you like the map.
Load it & go to the map generator to fiddle, switching from summer to desert & trying different seasons also effects things. Mud might make a showing as an example in the right season.
