Direct Question For The Developer
 
Hi, Everyone,
Here is a place to ask me (Bob / IBOL), "the developer", questions that are not necessarily or directly about the game.

WHAT?!

Such as "hey Bob, when's the next patch?" , or "How many more updates do you think there will be?" , etc.

There is no need to contact support for these things, especially since they DON'T KNOW.

So hey, folks, I'm here for you, though it may be sporadically :)

Yes, I've read over your ideas and there are definitely some good ones.
Most of them also seem within scope/realm of possibility , which is nice :)

I will respond...

omg, you played MOO3 ? me too. what potential, what disappointment!

devices are unlikely to go above 99, but currently rest at 73. (iirc)

"monster file" can go up to 500. there's a number at the top of the file which indicates how many monsters there are. If you want to add monsters, just increase that number and get to it!

Racial Tech: some races do have specific devices, but the idea to put them on their shipwrecks was never explored. Good one!

"Legal" needs to be handled with care, which is the reason it's not turned on.
the Limoquee are the major "moral" force in the AI galaxy, and they're pretty tough too. May become an active feature.

The idea of an "artifact un-curser" is cool.

"race like antarans" : go far enough (sector 100+) and you will find something like that

Gas Giants: i could never reconcile the science of "exploring a gas giant on foot" . Thought briefly about doing it in your ship...

"enemy ship boarding" : definitely suggested before. You can board the wrecks after you kill them, but currently no plan to make "boarding a live ship" a thing. Although, talking about it does make me see how it's possible...


particularly cool effect ideas:
Nemesis Monster, eats others, assimilator

Some of the stuff you mention is already in there.

good ideas for Planetary events too.

Next update schedule december-ish, so we'll see.

I have a question about the number of activations allowed with my serial code from Gamers Front. I had reinstalled it several times in order to get it to update and because I was concerned about some "sprite not found errors". I want to install it on my c: drive instead of my e: drive because I am going to get a SSD c: drive. If I install it there, I can clone the drive and registration will be intact. I assume I can just re-register the game by uninstalling from e: then reinstalling on c:. If I run out of activations, I can e-mail you my Paypal receipt. I don't want to risk a $60 CAD purchase! I did buy the extended download as well.

It has been advertised that there is no limit on the level of officers. It seems that skill levels can be maxed out. What happens after my 6 skills for officers are maxed out and I promote them? Is there any benefit?

How do I reduce the damage done from monsters I get in melee with? Or, would I just need to have high health and medic to heal them over time?

Does a higher DR on my space suit reduce the duration of burning, etc. or damage from monsters?
