Empowering a Wendigo

If a Wendigo is empowered when it's a baby will the empowerment stick when it grows? Cause that seems like a good way to get an empowerment on the cheap.

Re: Empowering a Wendigo

No, that won't work. W and D specifically are boosted so the empowered path will remain at level 1.

I realize that, I meant empowering up death from 1 to 2... and then when they're full sized they'll be death 5 instead of death 4.

Nevermind, I just figured it out...

OK, I see what you mean. As you probably noticed when testing, the 30 gem empowerment can also be done later in their cycle - not just when they are at D1 level. Interesting idea - post-empowerment you can summon tarts with just two boosters.

Baby wendigo. :) You mean *human sized* ravening flesh eating monster!

Sure sure, he's a flesh eating undead monster, but he certainly brings out my God's paternal instinct. I've given him a few nannies to protect him. I like to take him for walks to his favorite places (battlefields), but I always make sure he's safe when I do so. I make sure he's well fed. I've even given him a few toys to play with so he's a bit more experienced when he's all grown up!

im dubbing around with a wendigo in a game that's pretty much over for me. i love the unit thematically. and it's fun to try to build him up. but do you think he is actually usefull? i've only had him about 3 turns, and he seems underwhelming.

He's supposed to start out underwhelming. Wendigo get much scarier later.

Re: Empowering a Wendigo

Wendigo are great. Not only are they useful in combat but you get a D4 caster for 24 water gems. Lower research level and cost than a lich and using Adam J's empowerment suggestion you can get a tart summoner with just a skull staff and skullface. I wonder if his magic should top out at W3D3? In comparison Streams from Hades seems too expensive since the kokythiad only has W3D3 (she's stealthy but the wendigo is an SC with stronger magic that costs less).
