I thought of posting AAR's of my ongoing PBEM with Bruce.

So far here's the first two months.

Results

Dec 1941

1. Strike on Pearl Harbour - Japanese Victory!
Allied Losses:
5 BB (West Virginia, Tennessee, California, Arizona, Nevada)
2 CL (Phoenix, Helena)
Japan Losses:
None

2. Luzon - Japanese Successful Invasion (unopposed)

3. Wake Island - Japanese Successful Invasion (unopposed)

4. Leyte - Japanese Failed Invasion
No losses but he has mustered a very large force of 2 CV and countless CA/CL.

Jan 1942

1. Leyte - Japanese Successful Invasion (unopposed)

2. Borneo - Japanese Successful Invasion (unopposed)

Plans

I was expecting a naval engagement in Borneo but looks like he's giving it away for free. A very scary and large allied force in Singapore (3 CV 2 BB 32 CA/CL).

Current oil stocks at 4 / -1. I am sending TF's to protect and expand Borneo base to stabilize supply.

I am taking a risk of not capturing the oil centers of Singapore and Java for now because of the large presence of Allied ships.

Instead I will capture the Aleutians and raid The West Coast the next turn so that he will divide his navy.

Some patrols Borneo, Formosa, Truk, and Kwajalein to build up the land based air units.

Plans

His giant task force is now in Brisbane. Looks like this will make him flexible in defending Singapore and West Coast.

I think I'll go rush for oil this turn and get it over with.

Some patrols in important bases as well.

Plans

Since the start of the war, there hasn't been any major naval confrontation. This is beginning to worry me. Because he can muster more ships than me at time goes by. I have to sink something. But he's still building up his giant TF.

I will raid the West Cost to tie up his forces.
And then Invade Tarawa.

Plans

While I struck West Coast to tie down his forces, Home Island has been raided. Not really surprising but I could have anticipated this somewhat.

He now has an amphibious for which I don't know where he'll strike. Maybe he'll get to the oil centers. Oil Reserves 5mo / +1.

I now plan to raid Ceylon. I don't have any SNLF reinforcements for now. :doh:

Plans

Sent a lot of British ships to the bottom of the ocean. I am sending the Strike Force back to Ceylon to sink the BB's under repair and the defenders. Also hope to trigger a forced patrol this time around.

The smaller carrier force is going to get Singapore this turn.

Plans

Enemy carrier force is now in Hawaii. I have a feeling they will strike home islands. I will bring KB home and patrol for a while and defend aggressively. I want to deal another big blow to his navy.

A convoy is to reinforce Port Morseby.

And Little Carrier force will raid Brisbane.

Sorry about not posting updates. But I lost the war.
I lost all my carriers in a big battle in 1943 and I never recovered.
