Peace_and_Love, no diplo, gaming

map: sixlands
era: early
hosting: llamaserver, 24 hrs from start, then increase only at consensus. tolerance to RL.
mods: CBM 1.94
players: 6
diplomacy: not allowed
victory: consensus

this is intended to be a faster paced game, just like a quick game versus 5 smart AIs. if u tend to be the last person sending ur turns in or if u have the tendency to nearly always send ur turns in just before the deadline, please join other games instead.

Pretenders must be sent in WITHIN 24 HOURS of posting the application here to make the application valid. (to avoid dragging the start out for weeks).

If u join this game please keep fighting until u can, dont quit too early. on the other hand we wont spend too much time looking for subs, if u are in a hopeless situation, just turn the AI on.

We are waiting for competent players with some experience.

good luck and much fun to everyone!

I'd just like to point out that these potentially contradict each other, if someone suggests a winner and this is not accepted it will work the same as a call to gank that nation, which is a form of diplomacy. This isn't just theorycrafting, it happened in a recent game that Bullock hosted.

Good point, but should easily be handled by having the votes for a winner be privately sent to the admin and the admin declares when a consensus has been reached. Will require defining what is meant by a consensus in advance (majority? unanimous? something else?).

That only works if the admin is not playing in the game and is considered impartial by all participants.

Except the fact that through this voting the playing admin would have an ongoing flow of information about which nation is considered the most powerful by everyone else, effectively increasing his strategical knowledge.

Good point. I was assuming the admin wasn't a player, which I guess isn't that common. Might be a good feature to implement in a future patch of Dom - the ability for people to vote whether or not someone has won and to end the game when a certain requirement is met. Shouldn't be too hard to patch in I would think.

one would think the esteemed Dr. EarWax would have taken all of the psychological issues and their impact on the game into accout.

Re: Peace_and_Love, no diplo, recruiting 2/6

on the other hand, i dont want the make the victory conditions more complicated than necessary, i have admined several no diplo games, and determinig the winner never was a serious problem. On this map in most cases there is a final, deciding war between the 2 strongest nations, and thats it. if someone prefers to avoid the uncertainity of the incompleteness/inconsistency of the rules, please join one of my other, more defined, diplo games instead.
