Can you help me to understand FASCAM batteries better, please?

I have an ongoing campaign as Israel and one of my opponents is Jordan. Getting through the armor a Hussain III tank is very difficult, and none of the artillery that I have is able to get the job done. However, the armor penetration of FASCAM battery is good - the best that I have actually - but it is very costly: 518 points.

I have used FASCAM batteries on heavily armored tanks, namely Al-Hussain of the Jordanese Army, but I have scored no hits. Nothing has ever happened. The number of minelets is usually low and they do not hit anything, and I can honestly say that I have wasted every point that I have ever used on FASCAM batteries. And we are talking about over 1000 points.

The question is that should I continue trying to take out Hussain IIIs with direct hits of FASCAM or should I just use them for mining purposes without trying to hit anyone?

They are purely for laying of instant minefields, and priced extortionately so as not to allow the player to spam mines all over the map on a whim. They only get 3 sots as well, for the same reason. Shoot 3 times at a choke point to build up the minefield and deny it to the enemy.

They are in no way intended for direct tank killing, that would be cluster ammo arty units job, or Spike NLOS.

Thank you for your help, Mobhack. Would you recommend Spike NLOS for my problem?

I did, already. Read the last 2 words of what I posted and you quoted.

Yes, but I wanted to verify if you were speaking in general or about this case specifically. At any rate, I cannot use NLOS in this version.

Since you have Israel, rely on enough Spike ATGMs that would blot out the sun. Artillery can work, but it's less reliable.

If I may, I would say for your situation, since you are most likely using the free version of the game, you need to be using artillery that fires armor piercing shells as Mobhack said. When buying artillery before the game begins, pay close attention to whether or not they have AP shells or not. If it's just HE shells, then keep looking. Also, according to the OOB you're using I think you may not be able to find artillery that are loaded with AP so you may want to try using more dedicated anti-tank weapons and try different tactics. Just my 2 cents here.

By the way, for what it's worth, you can use as many Spike's as you can pay for, but you won't be able to use the NLOS feature of it if you're just playing the free version of the game.

By the way, would be nice to know what year and month you are playing in the scenario.

Jordan did sign it, but Israel didn't sign, The Ottawa Convention: Signatories and States-Parties banning the use of "CM" munitions.
