How active is the PBEM scene?
 

I've been a looooonnngggg time fan (player) of the Steel Panther family of games dating back into the early 90's and I'm considering purchasing this newer version. My question is, how often are folks seeking PBEMs? Sure it's fun to beat up on the AI but what I really want is to enjoy civil and challenging games against other users. (I understand that this newer version has the ability to inhibit folks from reloading game scenarios too which really turned me off when playing PBEMs with others in the past.:down:)

So again, how active is the PBEM scene for this newer version of winSPWW2?

This isn't a "new " mod. It's the original Steel Panthers Mod. We just keep improving it. We've had secure PBEM for 15 years.

Hopefully you will find an opponent. I'm surprised nobody has replied yet.

Since I have your attention, do you know if when one buys the enhanced version on CDs as of today if all of the patches, updates, etc are include on the discs?

The CD is (I believe) V5.0 so you will have to patch it to V7.11 - easy and quick to do on this site. :)
