Migration Q
 
Is it possible to change migration behavior? It a pain having multiple atmosphere types in your empire and having to manually rearrange people to get the right race for the planet's atmosphere.

why? the Crew of a ship is treated as one Pop unit when colonizing. Thus all colony ships built by your race will put one pop unit of your race on the planet in addition to whatever is in the hold.

You can disable the automatic colonization population in Settings.txt. Its not that the crew of the ship is used as pop, so much as the game just adds 1M extra pop to every colony (mostly to combat forgetting to load pop up on your ships).

Actually I've tested it. It adds one Pop of the race that is the ship's crew. This is actually a useful feature as it allows you to hijack colony ships of other races and use them to get that race into your empire without capturing planets. (and the colony starts out assimilated)
