Does casting that on a mage with globals.. Remove the globals?

Lichcraft is not cast on an existing mage, it just summons a Demilich. Maybe you mean Twiceborn?

the spell description is slightly misleading... Actually, that's true of a lot of spell descriptions...

Yes, and I think a question of making this spell follow description was raised a lot of times. Maybe someday it will. ;)
As for Twiceborn, it won't remove globals either as it by itself just gives the caster something like #secondshape.
