Need help with Virus

My flat mate recently downloaded some stuff for her college course and with it was a nice Trojan Horse virus. Ever since then I havent been able to get rid off it.

I use AVG resident shield and keep the virus database up to date.

Short of a full system restore anyone got any ideas? Please keep in mind that Im not massivley knowledgeable about this computer

Buy and download some decent anti-virus software and run that. Many anti-virus software companies have instructions on how to kill a specific virus, so you might look there.
