mod directory usage
I have never acutally modified the path.txt file, I have always just tweeked the files right in the 'data' directory (after making a backup copy of it). I understand that if I tweek the components.txt I have to move the entire 'data' directory into whatever directory I designate in the path.txt file.
If I don't touch any other file outside of the 'data' directory, is the 'data' directory the only one that needs to be copied into my mod directory? If I don't mess with any files in the 'ai' folder or the 'dsgnname' folder, for example, do I just leave them in the 'space empires iv' directory? |
Re: mod directory usage
yes and yes, i think that if se4 can't find for example the picutres in the mod dir, it will use the default pictures

Re: mod directory usage
For example if you change the number of racial traits, saved games and saved empires will not be compatible.
I allways like to add "savegame" and "empires" to all of my mod directories. If you want AI to be adapted to new techs you´ll need to add the "pictures\races\racename" dirs. |
