geo, you were right. It works if my ship has shield depleaters and it does not - without any weapon assuming there is no SDD.
-BUT-
If enemy has no shields and my ships have no shield depleaters -...

Actually they did have SDDs. BUT - right now I tried the same with the ships that had shields but no SDD and the result the same - runaway :/

Anybody has any experience in ramming/capturing ships in simultaneous combat? And how to use ramming at all (using organic armor III, when enemy has shields on)?
I tried to put some beams inside...

geo, that's exactly what I'm doing. Primary - capture, secondary - ram. Scenario: ram till the shields go down and switch to the first strategy.

geo, I tested in v1.49 which as you said was bugged. Then I tested it in v1.78 + DNM v1.70 and it also failed to board/ram. I'm gonna test it with pure SEIV Gold v1.78 later today.

Problems with ramming

Maybe I've missed this somewhere but tried to search the forum and failed. The problem I'm having is with capturing enemy ships / ramming. Tested this with SEIV and SEIVGold - no luck.

As far as I understand, ancient ruins is new and not researcheable technology like Massive shield depleaters and advanced technology is researcheable technology but of higher levels than the game...

On PBW we usually play 3-5 turns/day until turn 30, then 2-4 until turn 50 and later 1-2 turns per day. Depending on how busy the day is, we sometimes manage to get 8-10 turns in the starting period...

Check for the shipsets other players are using. Maybe somebody used a shipset in the creation of their empire but did not upload it for others to download. Ask about it in the game forum.

Gandalph thanx for explanation. Now I think I understand it. You must have more intel points than your attack operation in order to complete it _and_ still have some points left for counter intel....
