Re: Wpn 009 - SVD - Russia

Hmm, but doesn't range figure into the accuracy as well? I guess the SVD shoukld be as accurate on the closer ranges its used on as the other sniper rifles.

Re: Russian spec.force - exp and morale

Yeah morales is an interesting piont actually. I think the morales of the 'Bloc' countries are generally quite low, but then morale in game also represents how units handfle under fire which is also...

Re: Cluster Munitions - Capable to destroy tank?

Yes I thought so.
So it applies the same to the non cluster 155 round in my example, except that it's a kinetic penetrator not HEAT.

Re: Russian spec.force - exp and morale

Of course a conscript army can't reach the familarity with equipment and the traing standard of a purely professional army, and the game puts 'decent trained conscripts' at 65morale/experience...

Re: Cluster Munitions - Capable to destroy tank?

According those lines I had an interesting event in my current 1989 SU vs UAE campaign. A 155mm Artillery round landed right on my A-ERA equipped T-64B1V and I got the message "Advanced ERA defeats...

Re: Cluster Munitions - Capable to destroy tank?

Besides there is also Multi Effect Cluster ammo, featuring larger shaped-charge warheads which will easily penetrate a modern tank's top armor.

Re: German ranks

If you want to play campaigns using purely SS units you can also rename the rnk.txt's accordingly... Worked fine for me in one campaign.

Re: OOB 024 -- US Army -- M1A2 Abrams

Egypt OOB concerning AH-64 development

According to "Air Forces Monthly" as of January 4 2007 Boing has completed the upgrade of all 35 Egyptian AH-64As to the AH-64D Standard. So from January 2007 unit #128 (AH-64A) shouldn't be in the...

Re: SA-15 / Tor M-1 Russia ammo error report

Hmm yes I thought so, surely the 2 slots idea wasn't really thought through.
What I meant was whether one can manage to allow the SA15 to fire at two airstrikes not just one. One air strike at a...

Re: Destruction \" Abrams \" from RPG-7V hit sideway

And a tank taken out of action can't really be simulated by the game so we assume a penetrating hit kills it.
Fine with me. One needs to keep in mind that making the tank inoperable is as good as a...

Re: Destruction \" Abrams \" from RPG-7V hit sideway

Marek has a good point.
Epoletov_SPR: turn up your message delay in the preferences screen and look for the messages appearing at the bottom of the screen. They're quite informative if you want to...

Re: Shooting ATGM, DC-ATGM in movement.

Is it special for helicopters then or just because of their high movement rate?

Re: obat36 East Germany

Hmm I'll to get a look at it. Though I personally don't really like Motorbuch, they're quite biased sometimes. (IV'e got a horrible book on Green Berets from 'em...)

Re: WinSPMBTver3.0 Info

Interesting point, IMHO. The same basic launchers are usable for different ammo. If I understood correctly that in 3.0 there will be dedicated AT/AP teams then I don't really think thats a good idea....

Re: Warsaw Pact and TI

Siddi: Very interesting, thanks for that.

Note that it claims the MI-24B would have featured a FLIR (which is TI as the FLIR definition is normally used ,isn't it?) But then there's no direct...

Re: obat36 East Germany

I think so to especially with the improved HEAT warheads coming online in the mid 80s Leo A1, Challengers and M60s would be well within reach of them.
As I said it's a pity I couldn't find any real...

Re: Warsaw Pact and TI

Yes I totally agree to that, but in Heavy Smoke (which is a likely battlefield event) TI tanks would still penetrate it further then IR or "Stargoggle" equipped vehicles.

Gamewise the loss of the...
