I'd imagine that when the server comes back up, all current games will have their timers reset... it seems like the logical and fair thing to do.

1) If I just randomly contact llamabeast or Ich about hosting a game, will they oblige 100% of the time?...

Sorry to hear that. I had a hunch something might be wrong when I got a 404 on your page, but I was hoping it'd be something more benign that would simply require the server to be restarted.

That's something that would have to be figured out. I have no idea how Dominions 3 saves its data, but if it is done somewhat modularly it shouldn't be a huge problem. Table of units? Is there one...

Actually, random numbers are a good point. I hadn't considered those.

Unless the reverse engineering I did in my mind is wrong, Dominions relies on the deterministic nature of its code to produce...

While converting the entire application to multicore might be a huge amount of work, I'd think that converting just the battle resolution (which is the only thing that takes a lot of time anyway)...

quantum_mechani already proposed the idea of not adding any magic to your pretender chassis, which would kill blesses entirely...

Seems like a better solution to me than capping it at 6.

You need to scout well before attacking another nation because they might be far stronger than you. You can't check scores to see that...
