Re: SE5, Tell Aaron what\'s on your Wish List

Suicide Junkie: Yeah, exactly that sort of thing. I think it would necessitate seperating out ground combat from space combat; invasion in the space combat phase would simply be a dropping-troops...

Re: Semi-OT: Carriers? When are they good?

Re: SE5, Tell Aaron what\'s on your Wish List

Plug-In Ground Combat?

I've read bandied about on the SEV chats that it was considered virtually cutting out ground combat in SEV, because it was hard to maintain consistent quality with the...

Re: Proportions Mod version 3.0.3 in the works...

I tried fiddling with it myself when 3.0.1 came out, but it's difficult to script a good AI when you arn't too good at the game yourself. *g*

Re: Tactical combat in MP?

I'm just curious, if you did a simultaneous hotseat game, could you at least view the battle in tactical mode?

Re: hello and help

this is hardly the place for unbiased opinons! However, even ardent GalCiv partisans will concede that Space Empires has far deeper gameplay. I suppose it really depends on how much time you want to...

factoid:

lemmings don't actually jump into the sea on their own. Disney drove a bunch of them off a cliff purposefully for a nature film. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/redface.gif

Re: SE5, Tell Aaron what\'s on your Wish List

The original Dyson Sphere requires a sun; the theory is that if you put enough orbital habitats around it you cant see it anymore.

It just sounded cool so it got slapped on all similar concepts...

Re: SE5, Tell Aaron what\'s on your Wish List

Well, I was just thinking, maybe something could be set up where using a warp point drops a ship out of the game for x turns; that would probably help pseudo-ftl a bit.

Re: Proportions Mod version 3.0.3 in the works...

This thread seems to have overshadowed the Proportions Mod 3.03 Released thread. Oh well... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: SE5, Tell Aaron what\'s on your Wish List

I think Halo or The Halo is a good name for a ring world, but not a good interchangeable term.

Also, just some thoughts.. did anyone else think the Halo ring world was reallyreally small? It...

Re: Carrier Battles Mod

I think Preservationists could be more indepth. I mean what that really says to me is that their stuff is built to last, right? Well it stands to reason that it would be tougher, too. Just something...

Re: Quick, Aaron! Talk to Gamespy!

thats not entirely true. i agree that review scores are to some extent bought, but i believe it has more to do with laziness on reviewers part- noone bothers to play a game for 40 hours before...

Re: SE5, Tell Aaron what\'s on your Wish List

its cheaper in $$ terms. much cheaper, for what you get. The requirements are of course higher. One curious example of this is the original MechCommander; the graphics were done with 3d models that...

Re: SE5, Tell Aaron what\'s on your Wish List

i think Imperator Fyron was talking about how much better Realtime...
